The Biennale of textile art forms new contemporary expressions of textile creation and promotes interdisciplinary artistic integration. At the exhibitions she presents works by international and domestic artists, with special emphasis on the best works of current domestic and international student production. The Biennale Program focuses on different audiences and explores the effects of textile creation with them.

BIEN is an initiative of the Carnica Institute from Kranj, which organizes the Biennale together with the Aktivat Society, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and engineering of the University of Ljubljana, the Faculty of design, an independent higher education institution, and many other partners. The project is co-financed by the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Slovenia, go! 2025-European capital of culture, Nova Gorica, and municipality of Kranj.

Bienale tekstilne umetnosti BIEN oblikuje nove sodobne izraze tekstilnega ustvarjanja ter spodbuja interdisciplinarno umetniško povezovanje. Na razstavah predstavlja dela mednarodnih in domačih umetnikov, s posebnim poudarkom na najboljših delih aktualne domače in mednarodne študentske produkcije. Program bienala se osredotoča na različne publike in z njimi raziskuje učinke tekstilnega ustvarjanja.

Projekt sofinancirajo Ministrstvo za kulturo Republike Slovenije, javni zavod GO! 2025 – Evropska prestolnica kulture, Nova Gorica, in Mestna občina Kranj.
