The Bled Institute of culture and the Bled Museum Society invite you to the Bled Festival Hall for a series of autumn lectures on Alexander The Great . In six Tuesday evenings, a story that is not just history will unfold-it is a reflection of ambition, culture and eternal human dilemmas. The first lecture will take place on Tuesday, 7. October, at 19. uri .
"Do you know that Alexander The Great held a sword in one hand and a book in the other?"This is how one of the many anecdotes circulating about him reads – about a man who, at the age of thirty, controlled most of the known world. And do you know that before going to bed, he always put homer's Iliad under the headboard?
Alexander was not just a conqueror-he was also a dreamer, strategist, student of Aristotle and a man who still stirs the imagination today. In a few years, he led the Army from Macedonia all the way to India, leaving behind not only the Empire, but also at least two questions: is power without wisdom really permanent? And what makes a person "big"?
After an introductory lecture entitled Philip II. and the rise of Macedonia (7. 10.) will be followed by: Alexander-youth and assumption of the throne (14. 10), beginning of conquests (21. 10.), Victory over Persia (28. 10.), Death and the struggle for succession (4. 11.) and Hellenism (12. 11.). All classes will begin at 19. uri. Welcome!
In kaj naredi človeka »velikega«?
Po uvodnem predavanju z naslovom Filip II. in vzpon Makedonije (7. 10.) bodo sledila še: Aleksander – Mladost in prevzem prestola (14. 10), Začetek osvajanj (21. 10.), Zmaga nad Perzijo (4. 11.), Smrt in boj za nasledstvo (12. 11.) in Helenizem (25. 11.) . Vsa predavanja se bodo začela ob 19. uri. Vabljeni!
