EXHIBITION AT MEDIA NO ART GALLERY
TIMI SITAR AND HIS RED THREAD
Opening: Friday, 13. February 2026 // at 18.00 / / Gallery Media No /
On Friday, 13. in February 2026, the gallery of Media no Entertainment will host the opening of the exhibition Timi Sitar and his red thread. The exhibition will be on display until 12. in March 2026.
Timi Sitar (B. 2000) set his artistic path in Maribor, where he lived, created and attended the Maribor Secondary School of hairdressing. During his student years, he created a subtle presence with his recognizable symbol "human", symbolizing humanity, human experience and existence in the modern world, which can be found almost everywhere in Maribor in the form of small stickers or graffiti. Timi's "man" can also be found in printmaking and fashion design, which are additional branches to his otherwise primary artistic creation in the technique of sculpture. He produces sculptural works in various materials, which are dominated by smaller or medium-sized plastics made of concrete. Timi is currently attending the Design academic Mod Eindhoven in the Netherlands. He has not yet exhibited at UGM, Kibla, Tkalka, Tate Modern or Cukrarna Ljubljana.
In his artistic practice, Timi Sitar always starts from himself and his being, or experiences in a given environment. He finds a guide for inspiration in experienced moments that he shared with people close to him, as well as with people with whom he made only the first contact. There are several parallel constants that the artist witnesses, which he consciously or unconsciously internalizes and, if necessary, reworks. He says for himself that he loves people and is ready to do many things for their well-being, but as a persistent antithesis to this kind of character of the author, hypocrisy, envy and envy often arise. The paradigm of the artist's experience could therefore read"goodness is an orphan". This is Timi's red thread of life, with which, in a modern world saturated with selfish, highly individualized interests of people, he wants to create a message (about)himself, navigating life with clear good-natured values, aware of the potential dangers that threaten him at the same time. At the exhibition, the author presents himself with small-format statuettes in the technique of concrete, and with a central statue of life size, also in the technique of concrete. The figuration of the statuettes is clearly recognizable, namely, they are "men", but this time they do not stand upright and do not represent the cynical, socially critical character of the artist, but fell on their backs, languishing and succumbing to the cruelty of the human experience of the capitalist world, which quietly seeps into the art scene. Feelings of helplessness are amalgamated in the central, semi-lying plastic, which is finally dulled by the pressure of the weight of failed human relationships, failed moral well-being and a general lack of human authenticity. Dehumanization occurs, but also cathartic purification of everything experienced and lived.

RAZSTAVA V GALERIJI MEDIA NOX
TIMI SITAR IN NJEGOVA RDEČA NIT
Otvoritev: Petek, 13. februar 2026 // ob 19.00 // Galerija Media Nox
V petek, 13. februarja 2026, bo v Galeriji Media Nox odprtje razstave Timi Sitar in njegova rdeča nit.
