16. century, Stratford-upon-Avon. Three children are born to Agnes and 6illu after their marriage: first daughter Susanna, then twins Judith and Hamnet. While in London, Modulill is increasingly establishing himself as a playwright, Agnes remains at home caring for the children. But then tragedy strikes the family: Hamnet dies at the age of eleven. His death deeply shocks Agnes and 6th. Agnes falls into the abyss of grief, her faith and mental balance are broken, and Modulill struggles to find meaning in the loss. In this adversity, pain and art inevitably become intertwined.
I wanted the film to talk about two people who see each other and are visible to each other. They are archetypal characters. I studied Jungian psychology and Hindu Tantra - the energies of Man and woman, being and action, birth and death. In the absence of a healthy bond with our own roots, these forces fight within us. By designing the characters that embody this, the story can work on a collective and internal level. The alchemy of creativity allows these forces to coexist. With the hope that it grows into something more than just a story about a wedding or the death of a child.

Medtem ko se Will v Londonu vse bolj uveljavlja kot dramatik, Agnes ostaja doma in skrbi za otroke. Potem pa družino zadane tragedija: Hamnet pri enajstih letih umre. Njegova smrt Agnes in Willa globoko pretrese. Agnes pade v brezno žalosti, njena vera in duševno ravnovesje se porušita, Will pa se trudi v izgubi najti pomen. V tej stiski postaneta bolečina in umetnost neizogibno prepleteni.
Želela sem, da film spregovori o dveh, ki se vidita in sta vidna drug drugemu. Sta arhetipska lika. Proučevala sem jungovsko psihologijo in hindujsko tantro - energije moškega in ženskega, bivanja in delovanja, rojstva in smrti. V odsotnosti zdrave vezi s lastnimi koreninami se te sile borijo v nas. Z oblikovanjem likov, ki to utelešata, lahko zgodba deluje na kolektivni in notranji ravni. Alkimija ustvarjalnosti omogoča sobivanje teh sil. Z upanjem, da preraste v nekaj več kot zgolj zgodbo o poroki ali smrti otroka.
