Be welcome!

Introduction to the house and house rules:

When you're at the front door, to the left there's an intercom. Find "Jurtela" there and call.

  • Please leave the toilet door open — cat litter is there.
  • When you leave, don't let both front door and the one leading to the stairs open, the cat may slip away. So only one door at a time to check he's not in the ante-room.
  • If your things are in the room, better close the door when you leave. He has been caught clawing through to the food!

  • Parking on the street is paid, 2€ overnight (but until 6am). See Transport tab for free parkings around.

  • The water from the tap is perfectly drinkable (as everywhere in Slovenia).
  • Separate garbage collection. Bin in the kitchen: left—unsorted, right—packaging (plastic packaging, cans, tins). Under the kitchen sink: left—paper, right—bio.

  • Home wifi passwords are on the plaque.
  • SIM-card: I'm using bob, I'm not sure about any single place to buy the card
  • In the centre there's plenty of open wifi. Also you can check McDonalds and NLB branches usually have wifi around them.

What's nearby: cafés, shops, ATMs, etc.

On Sundays everything is closed. You can buy bread/pastry in the bakeries, some food on Petrol and beer/vegetables/fruits and some food at the greengrocer.

Transport

Bicikelj

Official site. it costs 1€ per week (optimal for tourists). If you return the bike within 1 hour, the ride is free.

But beware, if the bicycle is stolen, or you don't return it within 24 hours, the fine is 350€.

Absolutely free parking

As of now; but I think in the future they'll make a paid parking there. But it's far.

Free but risky parking

It seems to not be a part of the streets controlled by the inspectors, and I see long-parked cars there. Most of the time we park there, and haven't got any fine yet:)

Free parking

There's no sign (yet) that this yard is only for the locals, so we often park there.

Urbanomat

In Ljubljana all the buses require the fare to be paid by special card and don't accept credit cards (maybe it's changing now) or cash. Card has to be bought before the ride in one of the vending machines (they're many in the city) — called urbanomat. One of such machines is near the train/bus station, the other is near our home.

Card costs 2€ (not returnable, but we have some cards at home, you can use them) and then you'll need to put some money onto it, that will be spent on the rides. One ride costs 1.3€. Urbanomat accepts cards and cash both!
