An award-winning musician from Funsi, northwest Ghana, she is one of the biggest stars of the African music scene. Her creation connects West African traditional music and contemporary afropop music. But the star is also known by the nickname "lioness of Africa".

In 2014, she was the first Ghanaian musician to record and release music in the Sissala language spoken in northern Ghana. In the same year, she impressed the host of the BBC Media House Rita RA Entertainment as part of the program “Global Beats” (world rhythms). An Art Center, a guest house and a restaurant were built in their village by the Fanci fancaala. It hosts festivals and events there that connect its community and encourage village children to create in order to boost self-confidence. Together they formed a project to YagaYaga, which is based on t. i. the afro-american fusion music, and their music, he gave a new dimension. Wiyaala velja za najvplivnejšo afriško pevko mlajše generacije, članico Grammy akademije in zvezdo svetovnega kova.
Decembra 2024 jo je BBC uvrstil na lestvico 100 najvplivnejših žensk na svetu.
Od leta 2019 Wiyaala sodeluje s slovensko zasedbo Yaga Yagas. Skupaj so nastopili na največjih svetovnih odrih.
Wiyaala je večkrat nagrajena glasbenica iz kraja Funsi v severozahodni Gani in je ena največjih zvezd afriške glasbene scene. Njeno ustvarjanje povezuje zahodnoafriško tradicionalno glasbo in sodobno afropop glasbo. Včasih jo primerjajo z Osibiso in Angelique Kidjo.
