Lomski ploh ali “vomnsk poh” kot mu rečejo domačini, se vleče vedno takrat, kadar od božiča pa do pusta v vasi ni nobene ohceti. Nekdaj je bil namreč ravno zima čas porok. Takrat so kmetje imeli največ časa. Poleti je delo in ni časa za ženitev. Večina porok je bila tako ravno v obdobju med božičem in pustom. Pred božičem se ni praznovalo in veselilo, ker je bil advent, po pepelnici, ki sledi pustnemu torku, pa tudi ne, ker je post.
