Tour description
At the entrance to the Draga Valley, you are greeted by the mighty ruins of Kamen Castle . The famous castle, which once guarded the old cargo route through the Karavanke, will surely impress you with its size and picturesque location. In the company of a local guide, you will learn about the rich history of the castle, on which several noble families have resided for many centuries. The most famous of these is the Lamberg family, the local Knight Henry II. Lamberg was one of the most famous tournament warriors of his time. You will walk through the ruins of the castle, all the way from the castle terraces to the top of the observation tower from 12. century, from where you can find beautiful views of the castle, Drago Valley and Mount Begunjscica. The tour of the castle is followed by a short hike along part of the Lamberg Trail, which leads to nearby archaeological sites. You will learn about the interesting past of the Zijalka cave and The Legend of the construction of the Dwarf Castle, a mysterious castle without windows and doors built high in the rock wall.

How to get to the collection point:
Bus from the direction of Bled or Radovljica. You can walk from the bus station in Begunje to Kamen Castle (2 kilometers or 25 minutes walk.)

Opis izleta
Za Begunjami na Gorenjskem, vas ob vhodu v dolino Draga pozdravijo mogočne razvaline gradu Kamen . Znameniti grad, ki je nekoč varoval staro tovorniško pot prek Karavank, vas bo gotovo navdušil s svojo razsežnostjo in slikovito lego. V družbi lokalnega vodnika boste spoznali bogato zgodovino gradu, na katerem je v dolgih stoletjih prebivalo več plemiških družin. Med njimi najbolj poznana je rodbina Lambergov, tukajšnji vitez Gašper II. Lamberg je bil eden najbolj znanih turnirskih bojevnikov svojega časa. Sprehodili se boste po razvalinah gradu, vse od grajskih teras do vrha razglednega stolpa iz 12. stoletja, od koder se ponujajo čudoviti razgledi na grad, dolino Drago in goro Begunjščico. Ogledu gradu sledi kratek pohod po delu Lambergove poti, ki vodi do bližnjih arheoloških najdišč. Spoznali boste zanimivo preteklost jame Zijalke in legendo o zidavi Škratovega gradiča, skrivnostnega gradu brez oken in vrat zgrajenega visoko v skalni steni.

Avtobus iz smeri Bleda oz. Radovljice. Od avtobusne postaje v Begunjah do gradu Kamen se lahko sprehodite peš (2 kilometra oz. 25 minut hoje.)
