The action thriller rebellion follows Cole Reed (Jason Statham ), a former Special Forces officer and police officer who now works in private security. His life is turned upside down overnight when he witnesses the brutal murder of his employer, a billionaire industrialist, and the culprits cold-bloodedly frame him for the crime. Reed immediately finds himself on the run from the law and ruthless hitmen. To save his life, clear his name, and avenge his murdered boss, he boards a huge cargo ship in the middle of the ocean undercover. However, he soon finds that he has fallen into a deadly trap, as the crew consists of dangerous mercenaries. When all communication devices on the ship fail, a bloody struggle for control of the vessel begins in the middle of the open sea. Isolated in claustrophobic shipping corridors, Reed must use all his deadly military skills to survive the rebellion and uncover a sprawling international conspiracy that reaches the very tops of power.

Akcijski triler Upor spremlja Cola Reeda ( Jason Statham ), nekdanjega pripadnika posebnih enot in policista, ki zdaj dela v zasebnem varovanju. Njegovo življenje se čez noč obrne na glavo, ko je priča brutalnemu umoru svojega delodajalca, milijarderskega industrijalca, krivci pa zločin hladnokrvno podtaknejo njemu. Reed se nemudoma znajde na begu pred zakonom in neusmiljenimi plačanimi morilci. Da bi si rešil življenje, opral svoje ime in maščeval umorjenega šefa, se pod krinko vkrca na ogromno tovorno ladjo sredi oceana. Vendar kmalu ugotovi, da je padel v smrtonosno past, saj posadko sestavljajo nevarni najemniki. Ko na ladji odpovejo vse komunikacijske naprave, se sredi odprtega morja začne krvav boj za nadzor nad plovilom. Izoliran v klavstrofobičnih ladijskih hodnikih mora Reed uporabiti vse svoje smrtonosne vojaške veščine, da preživi upor ter razkrinka razvejano mednarodno zaroto, ki sega v same vrhove oblasti.
