A fresh look at artistic ceramics
The UNICUM International Triennial of ceramics is the Central International Exhibition in the field of contemporary art ceramics in Slovenia. UNICUM has become a reference Project, comparable to other related events in the world. The focus of the Triennial is on the presentation of contemporary art ceramics in Slovenia and internationally. The aim of the Triennial is to find and present new concepts, technologies and innovative art research.
With the international exhibition project triennial UNICUM, we want to draw attention to the rich artistic production in the field of ceramics around the world and in our country. Ceramic production has a rich tradition in Slovenia. After the decline of the applied ceramics industry, a boom in the field of artistic ceramics and the studio practice of making small-scale applied ceramics is visible. This was encouraged, among other things, by the study programmes of ceramics at the Academy of Fine Arts and design and the Faculty of Education at the University of Ljubljana, as well as the UNICUM International Triennial of ceramics and a series of other ceramic exhibitions.
Svež pogled na umetniško keramiko
Mednarodni trienale keramike UNICUM je osrednja mednarodna razstava s področja sodobne umetniške keramike v Sloveniji. UNICUM je postal referenčni projekt, primerljiv z drugimi sorodnimi prireditvami v svetu. Poudarek trienala je na predstavitvi sodobne umetniške keramike v slovenskem in mednarodnem prostoru. Cilj trienala je iskanje in predstavitev novih konceptov, tehnologij ter inovativnih likovnih raziskav.
Z mednarodnim razstavnim projektom Trienale UNICUM želimo opozoriti na bogato umetniško produkcijo na področju keramike po svetu in pri nas. Izdelovanje keramike ima v slovenskem prostoru bogato tradicijo. Po zatonu industrije za uporabno keramiko je viden razcvet na področju umetniške keramike in studijske prakse izdelovanja maloserijske uporabne keramike. To so med drugim spodbudili študijska programa keramike na Akademiji za likovno umetnost in oblikovanje in na Pedagoški fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani kot tudi Mednarodni trienale keramike UNICUM in vrsta drugih keramičnih razstav.
