The Europark Maribor promises to be a real chess weekend-you are invited to experience the royal game!
On Friday and Saturday, 16. and 17. in January , Europark Maribor in cooperation with the railway chess club Maribor Poligram will once again become the venue for the royal game. A lively, accessible and varied program awaits visitors, which will brighten up the shopping pulse and offer an interesting live experience.
In the central event area and on the floor, you will be able to follow young talents , fast team duels and top mental play, all in the relaxed ambience of one of the most popular shopping destinations.

Youth at the forefront-Styrian Cadet League (Friday, 16. January at 15.30)
Friday afternoon will be marked by the events of young people, who always surprise visitors with their concentration, courage and creative thinking. Pleasant and inspiring events, which are also watched with interest by parents and passers-by.
Dynamic sprint events – VBO, x SOLVE-X, poker sets (Saturday mornings from 10. hours ahead)
Saturday will begin in a fast and energetic rhythm. Teams of two players will face off in short, tense duels, where cooperation and quick decision count. The action is lively, continuous and very watchable, making it ideal for a short stop between purchases.
Live Chess Match Special (Saturday, 17. January at 11.00)
The highlight of Saturday morning will be a special duel between the young Maribor chess player Edvard Kaloh and the versatile Slovenian creator jure Ivanusic . The meeting of two generations and two worlds creates a special tension – silence, concentration and every move attract even those who do not know chess in detail, but like to watch the ultimate mind game live.
The highlight of the weekend-29. memorial Vasje Pirca (Saturday, from 14: 30)
Saturday afternoon brings the main event of the weekend-memorial Vasje Pirca, which is considered one of the most prestigious tournaments in Slovenia.
The best Slovenian chess players , led by Grandmaster Jan Shublj and International Master Matic Lavrencic , will compete in the tournament, which promises top games and a real sports atmosphere that even casual visitors can feel.

V petek in soboto, 16. in 17. januarja , bo Europark Maribor v sodelovanju z Železničarskim šahovskim klubom Maribor Poligram znova postal prizorišče kraljevske igre. Obiskovalce čaka živahen, dostopen in razgiban program , ki bo popestril nakupovalni utrip ter ponudil zanimivo doživetje v živo.
Na osrednjem prireditvenem prostoru in v nadstropju boste lahko spremljali mlade talente, hitre ekipne dvoboje in vrhunsko miselno igro , vse to v sproščenem ambientu ene najbolj priljubljenih nakupovalnih destinacij.

Mladi v ospredju – Štajerska kadetska liga (petek, 16. januar ob 15.30)
Petkovo popoldne bo zaznamovalo dogajanje mladih, ki s svojo zbranostjo, pogumom in ustvarjalnim razmišljanjem vedno znova presenetijo obiskovalce. Prijetno in navdihujoče dogajanje, ki ga z zanimanjem spremljajo tudi starši in mimoidoči.
Dinamično ekipno dogajanje – VBO x SOLVE-X turnir dvojic (sobota, dopoldne od 10. ure dalje)
Sobota se bo začela v hitrem in energičnem ritmu. Ekipe po dva igralca se bodo pomerile v kratkih, napetih dvobojih, kjer štejeta sodelovanje in hitra odločitev. Dogajanje je živahno, neprekinjeno in zelo gledljivo, zato je idealno za kratek postanek med nakupi.
Poseben šahovski dvoboj v živo (sobota, 17. januar ob 11.00)
Vrhunec sobotnega dopoldneva bo poseben dvoboj med mladim mariborskim šahistom Edvardom Kalohom in vsestranskim slovenskim ustvarjalcem Juretom Ivanušičem . Srečanje dveh generacij in dveh svetov ustvari posebno napetost – tišina, zbranost in vsaka poteza pritegnejo tudi tiste, ki šaha ne poznajo podrobno, a radi opazujejo vrhunsko miselno igro v živo.
Vrhunec vikenda – 29. memorial Vasje Pirca (sobota, od 14.30 dalje)
Sobotno popoldne prinaša osrednji dogodek vikenda – memorial Vasje Pirca , ki velja za enega najprestižnejših turnirjev v Sloveniji.
Na turnirju se bodo pomerili najboljši slovenski šahisti , na čelu z velemojstrom Janom Šubljem ter mednarodnim mojstrom Maticem Lavrenčičem , kar obljublja vrhunske partije in pravo športno vzdušje, ki ga začutijo tudi naključni obiskovalci.
