firsthand
"I have never been an adherent of strict genre definitions, especially not in stories with a strong emotional and political charge. True, Hind Rajab's voice is a dramatized work. It has a script, a thoughtful build, and actors playing their own roles. But at the same time, the film is rooted in an indisputable, painful truth and, most importantly, it is built around a real voice, The Voice of Hind herself, filmed in the last moments of her life.
For this project, I had to find a film form where the narrative would not be based on fiction, but on transmission – memory, pain, failure. Therefore, I did not have the feeling that I was inventing anything: something was given to me (something important, sacred), and my task was to design a film space that could include this voice in a respectful way.
Therefore, I would not say that my film ‘blurs’ the boundaries between genres. I think it really highlights them and expands our understanding of what fiction can contain and what documentary can protect. I wanted to resist narrative conventions and get closer to the truth of another kind: instead of limiting myself to facts, I wanted to show the emotions and the meaning they created.«

ZGODBA
29. januarja 2024 prostovoljci palestinskega Rdečega polmeseca prejmejo klic v sili.
