You are cordially invited to the opening of Tara Kek's first solo exhibition on Tuesday, 17. in March 2026, at 18. at the artKIT Exhibition Center, uri reveals the tastelessness of life .
Conceived as a two-part narrative, it leads from the present to the potential future through a special emotional experience that shakes the hourglass of reality. It opens a critical reflection on the current social structures and inequalities in which we live. It gathers the world that we co-create, often unconsciously but inevitably, setting up a "mirror" of the vulnerability of the individual, corrosive cracks in systems and doldrums of feelings of tightness arising from the pressures of modern times and society, its hierarchy, exploitation, fatigue, fragility and tensions that accumulate in it.
Like dunes created inspired by the desert, its infinite space, silence and symbolism in disintegration, decomposition, fading and return to basic prime factors. As a warning on the path we are walking. What arises when structures collapse, when systems disappear, when only a sandy trace of human influence remains.
Biography
Tara Kek (2002, Maribor) is a graduate art pedagogue (2025) and a master's student of art pedagogy at the Faculty of Education of the University of Maribor. In her artistic practice, she explores the relationships between the individual and the contemporary society of late capitalism, mainly interested in psychological tensions, feelings of alienation and visual reflections of social pressures. Her work builds on drawing and painting processes, often interweaving them with digital image and illustration.
She regularly presents her works at group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad, including at the DobraVaga galleries, Media No / / and cultural incubator, as well as in the framework of the Speran / / International Exhibition cycle (Bucharest, Chisinau). In 2024, she was included in the selection of the exhibition freshness and power of art: reflections of society at the zdslu gallery, which highlights the younger generation of promising artists. Since May 2025, she has been working as an assistant at the Hest Gallery in Maribor.

Vljudno vabljeni na odprtje prve samostojne razstave Tare Kek , da vam v torek, 17. marca 2026, ob 18. uri v razstavišču artKIT razkrije Neokusnost življenja .
Zasnovana kot dvodelna pripoved vodi od sedanjosti v potencialno prihodnost skozi posebno emocionalno izkušnjo, ki pretresa peščeno uro resničnosti. Odpira kritičen premislek o aktualnih družbenih strukturah in neenakostih, v katerih živimo. Zbira svet, ki ga soustvarjamo, pogosto nezavedno, vendar neizbežno, postavlja »ogledalo« ranljivosti posameznika, jedke razpoke v sistemih ter dolbe občutke utesnjenosti, ki izhajajo iz pritiskov sodobnega časa in družbe, njene hierarhije, izkoriščanja, utrujenosti, krhkosti in napetosti, ki se v njej kopičijo.
Kot sipine, ustvarjene po navdihu puščave, njenega neskončnega prostora, tišine in simbolike v razpadu, razgradnji, bledenju in vračanju v osnovne prafaktorje. Kot opozorilo na poti, po kateri hodimo. Kaj nastane, ko se strukture sesujejo, ko izginejo sistemi, ko ostane le peščena sled človekovega vpliva.
Biografija
Tara Kek (2002, Maribor) je diplomirana likovna pedagoginja (2025) in magistrska študentka likovne pedagogike na Pedagoški fakulteti Univerze v Mariboru. V svoji umetniški praksi raziskuje razmerja med posameznikom in sodobno družbo poznega kapitalizma, pri čemer jo zanimajo predvsem psihološke napetosti, občutja odtujenosti ter vizualni odsevi družbenih pritiskov. Njena dela gradijo na risarskih in slikarskih postopkih, ki jih pogosto prepleta z digitalno podobo in ilustracijo.
Svoja dela redno predstavlja na skupinskih razstavah v Sloveniji in tujini, med drugim v galerijah DobraVaga, Media Nox in Kulturnem inkubatorju ter v okviru mednarodnega razstavnega cikla Speranței (Bukarešta, Kišinjev). Leta 2024 je bila vključena v izbor razstave Svežina in moč umetnosti: Odsevi družbe v galeriji ZDSLU, ki poudarja mlajšo generacijo perspektivnih umetnikov. Od maja 2025 deluje kot asistentka v galeriji Hest v Mariboru.
Področja delovanja: slikarstvo, risba, digitalna risba, ilustracija, grafika. Živi in ustvarja v Mariboru
