With the author's adaptation of Beaumarchais ' satire, The Spiritual Child of the Enlightenment Anton Tomaz Linhart (1756-1795), the son of a Czech immigrant of bourgeois descent and a Slovenian woman, laid the foundation stone of Slovenian theatre and drama. In doing so, he unequivocally proved that the peasant language of the uneducated and uncultivated Slovenes on stage sounds just as artfully as other languages, while skillfully weaving into the text the idea of freedom, brotherhood and equality of all people.
The first Slovenian comedy, directed by Diego de Bree, has undergone a special interpretation. His reading of the play allowed the classic to become a" fun and witty experience "that reveals" a glimpse into modern society and its (Un)will for everyday and more revolutionary moments of life: measuring the bed, cheating, the prospect of abuse out of immediate lust, the threat of a lawsuit, separation from an adored person, or even meeting with hitherto unknown parents " (Kaja Novosel).
We meet the newly-made Baron's personal servant Matic at the moment when his chosen one Nezka reveals to him that the horny Baron stumbled wants to lure her into bed even before their wedding. The mother-in-law quickly decides to lead the Baron away from his bride by fanning the fire of jealousy in him. The Baron's lonely wife, Mrs Rozala, in an unquenchable longing for love, innocently flirts with the student Toncek, who returns her affection. So the mother manages to tempt the Baron for a moment, but his run is stopped by a fatal promissory note. Some time ago, the mother borrowed money from Smrekarica and signed that if he could not return the money, he would marry her. The mother still has no money, but the motherfucker demands his own. The Baron, who is also an arbiter in such disputes, under the guise of Justice decides that the mother-in-law must marry his lender. In the center of the basic plot is a love intrigue, which is initially conceived and led by Matic, but later comes up with it and takes into their own hands Mrs. Rozala and Nezka and unravels the confusion to a happy end.

Z avtorsko priredbo Beaumarchaisove satire je duhovni otrok razsvetljenstva Anton Tomaž Linhart (1756–1795), sicer sin češkega priseljenca meščanskega rodu in Slovenke, položil temeljni kamen slovenskega gledališča in dramatike. S tem je nedvoumno dokazal, da kmečki jezik neukih in nekultiviranih Slovencev na odru zveni prav tako umetelno kot drugi jeziki ter ob tem v besedilo še spretno vtkal idejo o svobodi, bratstvu in enakosti vseh ljudi.
Prva slovenska komedija je v režiji Novogoričana Diega de Bree doživela posebno interpretacijo. Njegovo branje dramske predloge je omogočilo, da je klasika postala »zabavna in duhovita izkušnja«, ki odstira »zazrtje v sodobno družbo in njeno (neje)voljo do vsakodnevnih in revolucionarnejših trenutkov življenja: merjenja postelje, varanja, obeta zlorabe iz hipnega poželenja, grožnje s tožbo, ločitve od oboževane osebe ali pa celo snidenja z do zdaj neznanimi starši« (Kaja Novosel).
Novopečenega Baronovega osebnega služabnika Matička spoznamo v trenutku, ko mu njegova izbranka Nežka razkrije, da jo hoče pohotni Baron Naletel zvabiti v posteljo še pred njuno poroko. Matiček se brž odloči, da bo Barona speljal stran od svoje neveste, tako da bo v njem razpihal ogenj ljubosumja. Baronova osamljena soproga Gospa Rozala se namreč v nepotešenem hrepenenju po ljubezni nedolžno spogleduje s študentom Tončkom, ki ji naklonjenost vrača. Tako Matičku res za hip uspe premotiti Barona, vendar njegov zalet ustavi usodna zadolžnica. Že pred časom si je Matiček pri Smrekarici sposodil denar in podpisal, da se bo, če ji denarja ne bo mogel vrniti, z njo oženil. Matiček denarja še vedno nima, Smrekarica pa terja svoje. Baron, ki je tudi razsodnik v takih sporih, pod krinko pravičnosti odloči, da se mora Matiček poročiti s svojo posojilodajalko. V središču osnovnega zapleta je ljubezenska intriga, ki jo sprva zasnuje in vodi Matiček, kasneje pa jo domislita in v svoje roke vzameta Gospa Rozala in Nežka ter zmešnjavo razvozlata do srečnega konca.
