Swedish is a North Germanic language spoken by about 13 million people, including 10 million in Sweden and 300,000 in Finland, where Swedish has the status of an official language. Swedish has 9 vowels that are pronounced long or short, two grammatical genders, a uniform form of verbs, and a tonemic accent that gives the feeling of singing. Among the Nordic languages, Norwegian is the most intelligible to Swedes aural. The nammckelharpa is a string instrument on keys that presumably originated in medieval Central Europe. Over time, the instrument became extinct in this area, and as a folk instrument it was preserved in the Swedish province of Uppland. Nowadays, the instrument is also known outside Sweden. In December 2023, the tradition of making and playing on the N animckelharpa was entered into the UNESCO register of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Mita Gustincic Pahor and Yuri Pahor lecture.
Mita Gustincic Pahor is a proofreader for the Swedish language at FF UL and a translator. She and her husband, Yuri Pahor, are also amateur musicians, who first played at N animckelharpa eight years ago in Sweden. They regularly return to Sweden due to Swedish folk music and playing with the rest of the N animckelharpists.

Predavata Mita Gustinčič Pahor in Jurij Pahor.
