Bograch has a special place in the hearts of the locals. In the old town of Lendava, among the historical scenery of the town houses and at the foot of the picturesque Lendava vineyards, the largest competition in cooking bograc in Slovenia has been held for almost two decades. From the morning hours, the competing teams diligently rotate the cooking pot with the aim of preparing the popular stew to the best of their ability. Ready-made dishes are evaluated by an expert commission, which gives awards to the most successful chefs. However, the commission not only evaluates the tastiest bograc, but also awards a special prize to the team with the most beautifully decorated competition ground. The event is actually a culinary festival, where, along with bograc, a traditional winegrowing dish prepared in kettles on the main street of the competing team, other local delicacies are also presented: Lendava pretzels, crackling cakes ... and with this varied culinary offer, we must not forget the pride of the winegrowers, the rujna wine that sparkles in the glasses of the visitors of Bogracfest.

Bograč ima posebno mesto v srcih domačinov. V starem mestnem jedru Lendave, med zgodovinskimi kulisami meščanskih hiš in ob vznožju slikovitih lendavskih vinogradov se že skoraj dve desetletji odvija največje tekmovanje v kuhanju bograča v Sloveniji. Tekmovalne ekipe od dopoldanskih ur pridno vrtijo kuhalnico z namenom, da bi pripravili priljubljeno enolončnico po svojih najboljših močeh. Pripravljene jedi oceni strokovna komisija, ki najuspešnejšim kuharjem podeli priznanja. Vendar komisija ne oceni le najokusnejši bograč, temveč posebno nagrado podeli tudi ekipi z najlepše okrašenim tekmovališčem. Prireditev je pravzaprav festival kulinarike, kjer se ob bograču, tradicionalni vinogradniški jedi, ki jo pripravljajo v kotličkih na Glavni ulici tekmujoče ekipe, zvrstijo tudi ostale domače dobrote: lendavski pereci, ocvirkove pogače … In ob tej pestri kulinarični ponudbi ne smemo pozabiti niti na ponos vinogradnikov, na rujno vino, ki se zaiskri v kozarcih obiskovalcev Bogračfesta.
