The overview exhibition at the Bozidar Jakac Gallery and at the Rajhenburg Castle, a unit of the Krsko Cultural Centre, shows an overview of the creative work of the fine artist, theatre director and puppeteer Silvan Omerzu. A carefully selected range of works is presented, from drawing and painting, shadow images, kinetic sculptures, spatial installations, to scenography and puppets created over the past thirty years.
The creative path of Silvan Omerzu is marked by a marked interdisciplinarity, since as a creator he never committed himself to a single artistic discipline or medium, but at the same time acted as a visual artist, set designer, puppeteer and theater director. His artistic practices, which occur both on theater stages and in gallery spaces, are characterized by complex object installations, created from wood and combined with a wide variety of materials, depicting expressive and often grotesque motifs, in which subtle social criticism and hanging humor are reflected.
At the exhibition in GBJ, selected elements from some of the most acclaimed and key works are on display, such as the Stage Theatre of forbidden love (Puppet Theatre Ljubljana, 2009) and the House of Mary help of Christians (Slovenian Youth Theatre, 2007-2008) and the exhibition Automata, puppets and actors (MGLC, 2010) and Ivan Cankar and Europe (Cankarjev dom, 2018-2019). In 2006, Omerzu already presented himself at the solo exhibition tears in the former monastery church of the Bozidar Jakac Gallery, which he turned into a perfect ambience. The exhibition at Rajhenburg Castle is on display between 18. 9. 2020 and 8. 2. 2021 and presents Omerzu's early works, which were created for both fine art and theatrical contexts.
A comprehensive catalogue with texts by Natasha Smolic, blaze Lukan and an interview by Mark Bauer was published.

Pregledna razstava v Galeriji Božidar Jakac in na gradu Rajhenburg, enoti Kulturnega doma Krško, prikazuje pregled ustvarjalnega dela likovnega umetnika, gledališkega režiserja in lutkarja Silvana Omerzuja. Predstavljen je skrbno izbran nabor najrazličnejših del, od risbe in slike, senčne podobe, kinetične skulpture, prostorske instalacije, do scenografije in lutke, ki so nastala v preteklih tridesetih letih.
Ustvarjalno pot Silvana Omerzuja zaznamuje izrazita interdisciplinarnost, saj se kot ustvarjalec ni nikdar zavezal eni sami umetniški disciplini ali mediju, marveč je hkrati deloval kot vizualni umetnik, scenograf, lutkar in gledališki režiser. Za njegovo umetniško prakse, ki se pojavljajo tako na gledaliških odrih kot v galerijskih prostorih, so značilne kompleksne objektne instalacije, ustvarjene iz lesa in kombinirane z najrazličnejšimi materiali, ki prikazujejo ekspresivne in često groteskne motive, v katerih se odražata subtilna družbena kritika in obešenjaški humor.
Na razstavi v GBJ so na ogled izbrani elementi iz nekaterih najbolj odmevnih in ključnih del kot stagledališki predstavi Prepovedane ljubezni (Lutkovno gledališče Ljubljana, 2009) in Hiša Marije pomočnice (Slovensko mladinsko gledališče, 2007-2008) ter razstavi Avtomati, lutke in igralci (MGLC, 2010) in Ivan Cankar in Evropa (Cankarjev dom, 2018-2019). Omerzu se je leta 2006 že predstavil na samostojni razstavi Solze v nekdanji samostanski cerkvi Galerije Božidar Jakac, ki jo je spremenil v popoln ambient. Razstava na gradu Rajhenburg je na ogled med 18. 9. 2020 in 8. 2. 2021 in predstavlja Omerzujeva zgodnja dela, ki so bila ustvarjena tako za likovni kot tudi gledališki kontekst.
Ob pregledni razstavi je izšel obsežen katalog z besedili Nataše Smolič, Blaža Lukana in intervjujem Marka Bauerja.
