Antonije Pushi / more commonly known as Rambo Amadeus is a cult figure of Balkan music-and one of the few to whom this label actually suits. A poet, composer, innovator, philosopher, social provocateur, and most importantly, a chronicler of time, who does not describe it from afar, but dissects it from within. And yes - also a sailor.
Born in Kotor, grew up in Herceg Novi, and today operates from Belgrade. His music is a kind of hybrid of genres, and his distinctive feature is sharp, satirical texts, which, without embellishment, expose the absurdities of modern society.
He has twenty albums in his discography, signs music for the theater, and also took up the silent classic Metropolis directed by Fritz Lang, which he re-sounded and performed with the Belgrade Philharmonic. He has received many awards-from satire to advertising, from film to music. He has acted in films, wrote The Opera Pasija based on Stella, which premiered at Kotor Art in 2019, and in recent years he has regularly collaborated with the Macedonian National jazz Orchestra, with which he performs throughout the region.
In 2019, he launched his solar sailboat-a vessel powered by wind and sun. Because ecology is a practice for him, not a pose: he drives a solar-powered electric car and has his own solar power plant.
19. in October, he comes to Linhart hall with a unique Omnikulturalist project, created especially for Cankarjev dom, which he will perform for our audience with the Big Band RTV Slovenija. Omniculturality is probably the most accurate description of his long-standing creative world. He draws inspiration from music, literature and visual expressions of different eras and corners of the world, from which he draws his own creative core, from which his recognizable style then emerges.
But as he himself says-the most interesting is yet to come. Until now, it was just an overture.
