Interventions with works by contemporary artists in permanent exhibitions to celebrate the 50th anniversary of GBJ

You are invited to the last opening of the interventions of contemporary artists in the permanent installations of the Bozidar Jakac Gallery, which will take place in the form of Public Leadership.
On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Bozidar Jakac gallery, we have temporarily introduced works by contemporary artists into the permanent collections that form the foundation of our museum. The project of the direction of development: lags thus opens the time dialogue between art 20. century and modern artistic practices, and announces a large anniversary exhibition of the direction of development, which will be opened on the 12th. in September 2025.
The idea of interventions comes from the principle of lag – temporal, perceptual and semantic. A delay can mean a comment or even a distraction that requires us to stay with the works of art longer and perceive them in a different light. With modern interventions, we want to introduce new readings into permanent installations and highlight motifs that are repeated in art, interpret them and illuminate them in relation to the past.
The project will develop gradually. The interventions will be presented in three sections, which follow the time sequence of the creation of the gallery's permanent collections. In the first part we include artists who co-created its identity with their works already at the founding of the gallery: Tone Kralj, Bozidar Jakac and Joze Gorjup. We will continue with the Pleter collection, France Kralj and France Gorshet, and conclude with Janez Boljka, Zoran Didko and Nandet Vidmar. The first “intervention” in the collection was traditionally opened on the 8th. in February, in the graphic cabinet of Bogdan Borchiakul, where since 2022 we have been setting up dialogue exhibitions.
With each intervention, we will establish new lags aimed at rethinking how art persists, changes and appeals again.

Intervencije z deli sodobnih umetnic in umetnikov v stalna razstavišča ob praznovanju 50-letnice GBJ

Vabljeni na zadnjo otvoritev intervencij sodobnih umetnic in umetnikov v stalne postavitve Galerije Božidar Jakac, ki se bo odvila v obliki javnega vodstva.
Ob petdesetletnici Galerije Božidar Jakac smo v stalne zbirke, ki predstavljajo temelj našega muzeja, začasno vpeljali dela sodobnih umetnic in umetnikov. Projekt Smeri razvoja: Zamiki tako odpira časovni dialog med umetnostjo 20. stoletja in sodobnimi umetniškimi praksami ter napoveduje veliko jubilejno razstavo Smeri razvoja, ki jo bomo odprli 12. septembra 2025.
Zamisel intervencij izhaja iz principa zamika – časovnega, percepcijskega in pomenskega. Zamik lahko pomeni komentar ali celo motnjo, ki od nas zahteva, da se ob umetninah zadržimo dlje in jih dojamemo v drugačni luči. S sodobnimi intervencijami želimo v stalne postavitve vnesti nova branja ter izpostaviti motive, ki se v umetnosti ponavljajo, jih interpretirati in osvetliti v razmerju do preteklosti.
Projekt se bo razvijal postopoma. Intervencije bomo predstavili v treh sklopih, ki sledijo časovnemu sosledju oblikovanja stalnih zbirk galerije. V prvem sklopu vključujemo umetnike, ki so s svojimi deli že ob ustanovitvi galerije soustvarili njeno identiteto: Tone Kralj, Božidar Jakac in Jože Gorjup. Nadaljevali bomo s Pletersko zbirko, Francetom Kraljem in Francetom Goršetom, zaključili pa z Janezom Boljko, Zoranom Didkom in Nandetom Vidmarjem. Prvi “poseg” v zbirko smo tradicionalno odprli že 8. februarja v Grafičnem kabinetu Bogdana Borčića, kjer od leta 2022 postavljamo dialoške razstave.
Z vsako intervencijo bomo vzpostavljali nove zamike, usmerjene v premislek o tem, kako umetnost vztraja, se spreminja in znova nagovarja.
