You are invited to the first public leadership after the exhibition (Un)visible links: conditions, processes and influences of Slovenian design , which will take place on Sunday, 4. in October, to MAO. The exhibition will be led by curator Maja Dobnik .
What does it take to create a design product? Who and what designs the conditions for it, from the first need or idea to the material, prototype, production and use?
The exhibition (Un)visible links presents 31 products that received the Made in Slovenia label of excellence in 2025, but it does not treat them only as finished products. It brings to the fore processes, knowledge, collaborations and relationships that are often not seen in them. At the guided tour, we will learn about the eight thematic sections of the exhibition and the different paths through which modern design products are created, from experimenting with materials and technologies to actualizing heritage, working with communities and thinking about sustainability. We will also look at how design can be understood more broadly: as a process that shapes not only objects, but also relationships, conditions and possibilities.
Entrance fee: every first Sunday of the month, admission to our museum is free.
Before the guided tour of the exhibition (not) visible links, you are also invited to a guided tour of the exhibition Biba: function. An idea. Context. , to be held at 11: 00 . The exhibition will be hosted by the curator Spela Shubic . During the guided tour will be for children between 6. and 12. creative workshop Kitty, putka, elephant.

Kaj vse je potrebno, da oblikovalski izdelek sploh nastane? Kdo in kaj oblikuje pogoje zanj, od prve potrebe ali ideje do materiala, prototipa, proizvodnje in uporabe?
Razstava (Ne)vidne povezave predstavlja 31 izdelkov, ki so leta 2025 prejeli znak odličnosti Made in Slovenia, vendar jih ne obravnava zgolj kot končne izdelke. V ospredje postavlja procese, znanja, sodelovanja in odnose, ki se v njih pogosto ne vidijo. Na vodstvu bomo spoznali osem tematskih sklopov razstave ter različne poti, po katerih nastajajo sodobni oblikovalski izdelki, od eksperimentiranja z materiali in tehnologijami do aktualizacije dediščine, sodelovanja s skupnostmi in razmišljanja o trajnosti. Pogledali bomo tudi, kako se lahko oblikovanje razume širše: kot proces, ki ne oblikuje le predmetov, temveč tudi odnose, pogoje in možnosti.
Vstopnina: Vsako prvo nedeljo v mesecu je vstop v naš muzej brezplačen.
Pred vodstvom po razstavi (Ne)vidne povezave vabljeni tudi na vodeni ogled razstave Biba: Funkcija. Ideja. Kontekst. , ki bo ob 11.00 . Po razstavi bo vodila kustosinja Špela Šubic . V času vodenega ogleda bo za otroke med 6. in 12. letom potekala ustvarjalna delavnica Muca, putka, slon .
