As part of the exhibition "OPEN. Borders of Light for a World of Peace" , the first side event will take place on Saturday, May 31 at 6:30 PM in the Luttazzi Hall of Magazzino 26 at Porto Vecchio, Trieste.
The event, introduced by exhibition curator Marianna Accerboni along with composer Silvio Donati , will present the official screening of the video A Man, a Castle, an Encounter. Rilke. Poetry is Music (39', in Italian and German). Conceived by Donati, who also composed the original music, the video includes the voices of actors Giuseppe Bevilacqua and Karin Kofler, bringing to life a tribute to Rainer M. Rilke (Prague, 1875 – Montreux, 1926), his masterpiece Duineser Elegien , and other significant verses.
The video perfectly aligns with the exhibition’s theme – a multimedia project of visual art and music promoted and organized by the Municipality of Trieste – Department of Culture and Tourism. Through the multifaceted creativity of seven contemporary artists from Northeastern Italy – Paolo Cervi Kervischer, Claudio Mario Feruglio, Jasna Merkù, Zoran Mušič, Luigi Spacal, Carlo Vidoni, and Toni Zanussi – the exhibition conveys, in the borderless spirit and context of GO! 2025, a message of peace and sharing.
