Belki Sibe is an award-winning documentary film that reveals an 18-month journey through war and revolution in Rozhava, the western part of Kurdistan, in northeastern Syria. The Film straddles the advance and victory of the Syrian Democratic Forces against ISIS, including the story of the International Freedom Battalion, where the director was primarily deployed. It depicts military life and battles at the front, as well as civilian life in the rear and the social transformation that the autonomous Democratic administration is trying to carry out. In both areas, the role of women's liberation and empowerment is visible. The Film follows a timeline from July 2016 (the Battle of Manbij) to the end of 2017 (the liberation of Ra Alterna and the collapse of the Islamic caliphate), but also includes footage from late 2021 when the director returned to rozawa. There is no main character in Belk / SIB / to guide the narrative. Instead, there are several voices from different places that come together to synthesize a collective narrative, both from the point of view of internationalists and local residents.
