Project 5 is an international band of top musicians from the United States and Europe who create modern, energetic jazz with a strong rhythm, expressive melodies and plenty of room for improvisation. In the foreground are the fiery and at the same time very melodic saxophone of Vincent Herring and the colorful sound of Mark Sherman's vibraphone. Herring has been considered one of the leading jazz saxophonists for four decades, and Sherman, in addition to a rich concert career, is also a professor at the famous Juilliard School in NE Animatork. The band is joined by the excellent pianist David Kikoski, known for his energetic, spontaneous and always expressive with an humorous play. The British double bass player Mark Le Animacando and Austrian drummer Bernd Reiter form a strong and reliable rhythmic connection. The members of the quintet have collaborated with names such as Dizz / Gillespie, Art Blake/, Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Ro / Ha / Animnes, Michael Brecker, Ron Carter and Benn / Golson. At the end of 2026, they will record a new album in NE Animatork, and in February 2027 they are going on a large-scale European Tour, one of the first stations of which will be Ravne in Carinthia.

Project 5 je mednarodna zasedba vrhunskih glasbenikov iz ZDA in Evrope, ki ustvarjajo sodoben, energičen jazz z močnim ritmom, izrazitimi melodijami in veliko prostora za improvizacijo. V ospredju sta ognjeviti in hkrati zelo melodični saksofon Vincenta Herringa ter barvit zvok vibrafona Marka Shermana. Herring že štiri desetletja velja za enega vodilnih jazzovskih saksofonistov, Sherman pa je poleg bogate koncertne kariere tudi profesor na sloviti šoli Juilliard v New Yorku. Zasedbi se pridružuje izvrstni pianist David Kikoski, znan po svoji energični, spontani in vedno izrazito swingovski igri. Britanski kontrabasist Mark Lewandowski in avstrijski bobnar Bernd Reiter sestavljata močno in zanesljivo ritmično navezo. Člani kvinteta so sodelovali z imeni, kot so Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Roy Haynes, Michael Brecker, Ron Carter in Benny Golson. Konec leta 2026 bodo v New Yorku posneli novi album, februarja 2027 pa se odpravljajo na obsežno evropsko turnejo, katere ena prvih postaj bodo Ravne na Koroškem.
