Brief content of the musical:
It is a historical story that deals with 16.century in the villages around bled.
After the publication of the book The Black Woman (adaptation by Hubert Gretnar, Mohor's company 1964), the story was very popular for reading and dramatic staging and still lives on in the memory of some locals.
Franc Podjed reworked the story into a script for a musical, wrote the libretto and music.
The story presents the life of a peasant man 16.for centuries, his fears at apparitions, the integration of communities in preparation for the peasant revolt, the fear of the Turks.
Bregar's story takes us from a quiet family life in foreign places in Bjelina ( Bosnia) with foreign habits of gypsies, joining the mercenary army to fight with the Turks, to participating in the Bled peasant revolt and a happy return to the family.
The musical equipment of F. Podjed includes folk (beer) songs, rebel and patriotic songs, as well as his own songs, which show the difference between the Gorenjska and Balkan Melos.
