Ozhbalt Ilaunig (1876-1945) was a writer and judge who worked at the lenarsk court from 1908. The oral narrative he titled Black Cross at Hrastovac was recorded and published in 1928. Autobiographical manuscripts have also been preserved, most of which are unpublished and are kept by the Maribor regional archive.
The black cross was a monument made of stone erected at the place where those sentenced to death were beheaded. End 18. it was rebuilt for centuries, later it fell into disrepair and the stones were used in the construction of the barn. In 1936, at the initiative of the Historical Society Maribor, of which ilaunig was a representative, it was erected again.

Naslednje srečanje Maribere bo na temo pripovedi Ožbalta Ilauniga Črni križ pri Hrastovcu . Srečanje bo 14. 1. 2026 ob 18. uri v Vetrinjskem dvoru (prostor Freske v 1. nadstropju).
Baron Friderik Herberstein iz gradu Hrastovec se zaljubi v Agato Nürenberg, ki prihaja iz plemiške, vendar za grofico Margareto ne dovolj plemenite družine. Margareta sinu jasno pove, da ne bo dovolila njegove poroke z Agato. Ona se je že dogovorila za zaroko s plemenitejšo žensko. Kljub maminim grožnjam Frederik izpove svojo ljubezen Agati. Ob tistem času pa v Šent Lenartu umre župnik in je umeščen nov župnik, ki se skupaj s še enim župnikom odloči podpreti Friderika in Agato.
Ožbalt Ilaunig (1876-1945) je bil pisatelj in sodnik, ki je delal na lenarškem sodišču od leta 1908. Ustno pripoved, ki jo je naslovil Črni križ pri Hrastovcu je zapisal in izdal leta 1928. V knjižni obliki so izšla je še tri druga dela z zgodovinsko tematiko. Ohranjeni so tudi avtobiografski rokopisi, ki so večinoma neobjavljeni in jih hrani Pokrajinski arhiv Maribor.
Črni križ je bil spomenik iz kamna postavljen na kraju, kjer so obglavljali obsojene na smrt. Konec 18. stoletja je bil obnovljen, kasneje je razpadel in so kamenje uporabili pri gradnji hleva. Leta 1936 je bil na pobudo Zgodovinskega društva Maribor, katerega predstavnik je bil Ilaunig, ponovno postavljen.
