On Monday, 6. in March 2023, at 19. uri, invited to the Trebnje Cultural Centre for the presentation of the book Life in the grey zone: scenes from the life of a young doctor and a conversation with the author David Zupancic.
This evening we will get to know the author David Zupancic more closely, who in conversation with Simona Luzhar will present his book Life in the gray zone: scenes from the life of a young doctor.
David Zupancic is a young doctor who confirmed the first case of SARS-CoV-2 infection in Slovenia at the beginning of the epidemic in 2020 in the emergency room of the clinic for Infectious Diseases and febrile conditions in Ljubljana. He is known for giving scientific information and events in a humorous way. At the time of the outbreak of the virus, he was constantly involved in work in emergency and intensive care units.
"With this book, I do not want to add oil to the fire of passion ignited by the epidemic. I do not want to condemn, theorize and rage. I don't really want to even write a book about covid. I just want to tell. About his work as an infectologist during a pandemic. About their experiences, fears, victories and defeats. About our patients with whom we spent the hardest and longest nights in the Clinical Center."Although infectology is a serious profession, David Zupancic writes about his experiences, fears, victories and defeats in such a way that medicine and health care in his writings become an endless source of situational comedy and entertainment scenes, as well as important ethical and life issues. V ponedeljek, 6. marca 2023, ob 19. uri , vabljeni v Kulturni dom Trebnje na predstavitev knjige Življenje v sivi coni: prizori iz življenja mladega zdravnika in pogovor z avtorjem Davidom Zupančičem.
Ta večer bomo pobliže spoznali avtorja Davida Zupančiča, ki bo v pogovoru s Simono Lužar predstavil svojo knjigo Življenje v sivi coni: prizori iz življenja mladega zdravnika.
David Zupančič je mladi zdravnik, ki je na začetku epidemije leta 2020 v urgentni ambulanti Klinike za infekcijske bolezni in vročinska stanja v Ljubljani potrdil prvi primer okužbe z virusom SARS-CoV-2 v Sloveniji. Znan je po tem, da znanstvene informacije in dogodke podaja na šaljiv način. V času izbruha virusa je bil ves čas vključen v delo na urgencah in intenzivnih enotah.
»S to knjigo ne želim priliti olja na požar strasti, ki ga je zanetila epidemija. Ne želim obsojati, teoretizirati in besneti. V resnici ne želim niti pisati knjige o covidu. Želim samo pripovedovati. O svojem delu infektologa v času pandemije. O svojih izkušnjah, strahovih, zmagah in porazih. O svojih bolnikih, s katerimi smo preživeli najtežje in najdaljše noči v kliničnem centru.« Čeprav je infektologija resna stroka, David Zupančič o svojih izkušnjah, strahovih, zmagah in porazih piše tako, da postaneta medicina in zdravstvo v njegovih zapisih neskončen vir situacijske komedije in zabavnih prizorov, obenem pa tudi pomembnih etičnih in življenjskih vprašanj.
