The Izola City Library and the Izola Center for Culture, Sports and events invite you to the " presentation of Alyosha Kharlamov'S book: The Doc and the hippopotamus ", the latest work of Alyosha Kharlamov's literary historian, editor and podcaster. The novel is set in Ljubljana in 1835, where France Preseren finds himself next to the body of a drowning woman under unusual circumstances and soon becomes an involuntary detective. Under pressure from the authorities, he has to solve a murder mystery that reveals complex relationships, political tensions and the hidden sides of the then society. The novel skillfully combines historical background, literary imagination and a tense crime story. Preserna presents himself in a new light; as a complex, witty and very human protagonist, and at the same time raises questions about the creation, language and formation of national consciousness through the narrative.
The author Alyosha Kharlamov is a literary historian, publicist and editor who has been devoted to the research and popularization of genre literature for many years. He is also the co-creator of the O. B. O. D. podcast, in which he discusses literature, film and contemporary culture with his interlocutors. His writing is distinguished by a wide knowledge of the literary space and a pronounced sense of narrative. At the event, we will talk with the author about the creation of the novel, his view of literary history and how genre literature can revive the past in a fresh way.

Mestna knjižnica Izola in Center za kulturo, šport in prireditve Izola vabita na » PREDSTAVITEV KNJIGE ALJOŠE HARLAMOVA: DOHTAR IN POVODNI MOŽ «, najnovejšega dela literarnega zgodovinarja, urednika in podkasterja ALJOŠE HARLAMOVA. Dogajanje v romanu je postavljeno v Ljubljano leta 1835, kjer se France Prešeren v nenavadnih okoliščinah znajde ob truplu utopljenke in kmalu postane neprostovoljni detektiv. Pod pritiskom oblasti mora razrešiti skrivnost umora, ki razkriva zapletene odnose, politične napetosti in skrite plati tedanje družbe. Roman spretno združuje zgodovinsko ozadje, literarno domišljijo in napeto kriminalno zgodbo. Prešerna predstavi v novi luči; kot kompleksnega, duhovitega in zelo človeškega protagonista, hkrati pa skozi pripoved odpira vprašanja o ustvarjanju, jeziku in oblikovanju narodne zavesti.
Avtor Aljoša Harlamov je literarni zgodovinar, publicist in urednik, ki se že vrsto let posveča raziskovanju in popularizaciji žanrske literature. Je tudi soustvarjalec podkasta O.B.O.D., v katerem s sogovorniki razpravlja o literaturi, filmu in sodobni kulturi. Njegovo pisanje odlikujeta široko poznavanje literarnega prostora ter izrazit občutek za pripoved. Na dogodku bomo z avtorjem spregovorili o nastajanju romana, njegovem pogledu na literarno zgodovino ter o tem, kako lahko žanrska literatura na svež način oživlja preteklost.
