culture history lecture cinema exhibition

We invite you to the presentation of the documentary film HRAMI, which will take place on Thursday, 14. in May 2026 at 19. uri.
The evening will be dedicated to Bistrican Mark Gorisko, who participated in the film as one of the witnesses, and showed the team the Japod cave.
The film temples: the sacredness of the karst underground reveals the deep connection of man with caves, rituals and symbolism, which over time is intertwined with the karst landscape.
The Film was produced from 2020 until the end of 2025.
They researched and created Tomo Godnic (screenwriter and cameraman), Tomi Spacapan (sound technician), Irena Godnic (cover word) and Boris Chok (narrator).
Temple is the ancient word for sanctuary. It is said to have originated in Sanskrit as an ashram; in India, it is a traditional spiritual refuge, monastery or retreat center where individuals live, study and practice yoga and meditation under the guidance of a spiritual teacher or guru. When collecting folk traditions, we found out that there were quite easily accessible caves and cliffs in the Karst, which the Old Believers used for sacred ritual places. They were called temples. For this reason, our team decided in 2021 to make a documentary that would introduce this little-known topic to the general public. The film shows ritual caves from the Snow Mountain all the way to the source of the kot Temava River in Shtivan. The main thread that connects the caves is the River The River, which has also created them over hundreds of thousands of years. Due to the complexity of filming in the field, this project was created for as long as four years and now it is finally possible to watch it.

Raziskovali in ustvarjali so Tomo Godnič (scenarist in snemalec), Tomi Špacapan (tonski tehnik), Irena Godnič (spremna beseda) in Boris Čok (pripovedovalec).
Imenovali so jih hrami.
