DANIJEL ZJEZELJ is one of the best Croatian comics artists, well known in America, Italy and elsewhere in the world. The artist with an extremely recognizable author's style impresses with his works, in which he also takes up remakes of classics, such as Kafka - a couple of years ago the first translation of his risoromani published in Slovenian, which bears the title as a dog.
In it, the thirst draws Kafka's story in his own way The Hunger, nowadays a very current story about a man who wants to go beyond his own framework, for which he also risks his life.
Most of the authors draw on white paper-The Thirst, it seems, starts from the darkness, from which it then delicately "rescues" the images into whiteness.
We will be interested in this path. In conversation at the Primaruha festival! we will ask him to outline his comic method more similarly, but of course questions about his perception of comics as an art of his own will by no means be left out.
Daniel was already touring with us at the time of the translation; he turned out to be an outstanding interlocutor, so we invited him again. Don't miss it, it doesn't come often & has to say really weighty things.

DANIJEL ŽEŽELJ je eden od najboljših hrvaških striparjev, dobro znan tudi v Ameriki, Italiji ter drugod po svetu. Risar s skrajno prepoznavnim avtorskim slogom navdušuje s svojimi deli, v katerih se loteva tudi predelav klasike, denimo Kafke - pred par leti v izšel prvi prevod njegovih risoromanov v slovenščino, ki nosi naslov KOT PES.
V njem Žeželj na sebi lasten način izriše Kafkovo zgodbo Gladovalec, dandanes še kako aktualno pripoved o človeku, ki želi preseči lastne okvire, za kar tvega tudi življenje.
Večina avtoric in avtorjev riše na bel papir - Žeželj, se zdi, prične iz teme, iz katere nato pretanjeno "rešuje" podobe v belino.
Zanimala nas bo ta pot. V pogovoru na festivalu Primaruha! ga bomo prosili, da podobneje oriše svojo stripovsko metodo, seveda pa vprašanja o njegovem dojemanju stripa kot samosvoje umetnosti nikakor ne bodo izostala.
Danijel je pri nas ob izidu prevoda že gostoval; izkazal se je za izjemnega sogovornika, zato smo ga znova povabili. Ne zamudite ga, ne pride pogosto & ima povedati res tehtne reči.
