Sudden cardiac arrest is the most common cause of dying in the developed world. Statistics say that every day four Slovenians experience cardiac arrest. This means 1600 people a year. Even more concern is the fact that only one of those to whom this will happen today, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow will remain alive and take it away without consequences. Only one in ten survives. But would you know or want to help with cardiac arrest? The data says that only one in three would do it. And this, given the fact that every minute missed at cardiac arrest means 10 percent less chance that the patient will survive. Although this would most likely help someone close to you, because as much as 70 percent of cardiac arrest occurs at home. Ignorance and fear are the main obstacles, this is also why black statistics. But anyone can help. Sometimes it is enough to recognize that something is wrong with a person, call 112 and the medical dispatcher can give us instructions on how to act further. It is therefore all the more important to know where defibrillators are located and to be educated about the fundamental resuscitation procedures and the use of AED.

Pomagaj prvi v torek, 11.3.2025, ob 18.00 uri v stavbi gasilskega doma Metlika (I. nadstropje). Vabljeni!
