Exhibition politics Cat between the doors, which will be held in the Customs House from 16. 5. 2025 to 21. 6. 2025, through the mischievous cat-treated State symbolism of flags, state institutions and designations, reveals the harsh reality of European exclusive politics. Director and visual artist Ana Qigon incorporates elements of her latest animation The Cat between the door and video conversations in which she talks with experts about refugee policy. As part of the project, workshops and leadership will also be held.
Ana Qigon is an artist who mainly works in the field of video, film and performance. She is an academic painter and master of Arts in the field of video, and has also completed a master's degree in Interface Cultures in Linz, Austria. In her projects, she deals with social and feminist themes, with themes related to Commemoration and public monuments, discriminated social groups, LGBTI / + themes and with criticism of neoliberalism. He often weaves elements of humor, irony and satire into his works.
He predominantly makes documentaries, but more recently also makes short animations. He occasionally shoots videos for the theater and participates in collective performance projects. She presents her works at Solo and group exhibitions and film festivals in Slovenia and abroad. She has received several awards in the field of visual and audiovisual production for her works.
Razstava skozi humor in simboliko razkriva kruto realnost evropske migracijske politike, združuje animacijo, video pogovore in kritično refleksijo.
Razstava Politika Mačka med vrati , ki bo potekala v Carinarnici od 16. 5. 2025 do 21. 6. 2025 , prek hudomušne mačkasto obdelane državne simbolike zastav, državnih ustanov in označb, razkriva kruto realnost Evropske ekskluzivne politike. Režiserka in vizualna umetnica Ana Čigon v razstavo vpleta elemente svoje najnovejše animacije Maček med vrati in video pogovore, v katerih se s strokovnjakinjami pogovarja o begunski politiki. V sklopu projekta bodo potekale tudi delavnice in vodstva.
Ana Čigon je umetnica, ki pretežno ustvarja na področju videa, filma in performansa. Je akademska slikarka in magistrica umetnosti s področja videa, zaključila pa je tudi magistrski študij Interface Cultures v Linzu, Avstrija. V svojih projektih se ukvarja z družbenimi in feminističnimi temami, s temami povezanimi s spominjanjem in javnimi spomeniki, diskriminiranimi družbenimi skupinami, LGBTIQ+ temami in s kritiko neoliberalizma. V dela pogosto vpleta elemente humorja, ironije in satire.
Pretežno snema dokumentarne filme, v zadnjem času pa tudi kratke animacije. Občasno snema videe za gledališče in sodeluje v kolektivnih performativnih projektih. Svoja dela predstavlja na samostojnih in skupinskih razstavah ter filmski festivalih v Sloveniji in tujini. Za svoja dela je prejela več priznanj na področju vizualne in avdiovizualne produkcije.
