On the occasion of the International Day of remembrance for the victims of the genocide of Roma and Sinti, we kindly invite you to the memorial event the night when the violins fell silent . On behalf of the organizers of the event, the coordinator of the cultural programs of the Maribor synagogue, Marjetka Bedrac, and the president of the association EPEKA, social enterprise, Stefan Simoncic, will address the participants .
Within the framework of the event , we will present the International Project Roma Soul Food, which is dedicated to collecting and preserving the oral history of Roma communities and their culinary and cultural practices in Slovenia, Serbia and Greece.
A special moment of the event will be a musical performance of Roma women and girls who will sing traditional Roma songs related to memory , identity and intergenerational transmission of cultural heritage.
The event is being prepared in cooperation with the Maribor synagogue and Loli luludi .

Ob mednarodnem dnevu spomina na žrtve genocida nad Romi in Sinti vas prijazno vabimo na spominsko prireditev Noč, ko so violine obmolknile . V imenu organizatorjev prireditve bosta zbrane nagovorila koordinatorica kulturnih programov Sinagoge Maribor Marjetka Bedrač in predsednik Združenja EPEKA, socialno podjetje, Štefan Simončič .
V okviru prireditve bomo predstavili mednarodni projekt Roma Soul Food , ki se posveča zbiranju in ohranjanju ustne zgodovine romskih skupnosti ter njihovih kulinaričnih in kulturnih praks v Sloveniji, Srbiji in Grčiji.
Poseben trenutek dogodka bo glasbeni nastop romskih žensk in deklet , ki bodo zapele tradicionalne romske pesmi , povezane s spominom, identiteto in medgeneracijskim prenosom kulturne dediščine.
Dogodek pripravljamo v sodelovanju s Sinagogo Maribor in Loli Luludi .
