You are invited to a free guided hike from Breginj to the top of STOL, where we will learn about the rich natural heritage of this area through movement and experience of nature. Special emphasis will be placed on observing birds, identifying them and understanding their role in the natural environment.
The hike is part of the hiking and Cycling Festival Soca Valley and is organized in cooperation with the municipality of Kobarid as part of the INTERREG ITINERANT project . The participants will be accompanied by a local tourist guide, and the professional part of the program dedicated to bird watching will be led by the guide of the Society for the observation and study of birds of Slovenia (DOPPS).
Birds are an indispensable part of the nature that surrounds us, but we often only notice them when we pay a little more attention to them. During the hike, we will learn how to recognize them by their appearance and appearance, how they live, what they feed on and how we can observe them in a respectful way without interfering with their natural behavior.
Getting to know birds is also an opportunity to better understand the importance of preserving the natural environment and biodiversity, and to discover how humans and nature can coexist in balance. The hike is intended for everyone who wants to get to know the exceptional nature of the STOL area in a sustainable and experienced way and discover its diverse animal world.
Mandatory equipment
Participants need appropriate hiking footwear, hiking poles as needed, and enough food and drink from the backpack.
Binoculars are also recommended for bird watching, if you have one. Binoculars make it possible to more accurately observe birds and their behavior from an appropriate distance without disturbing them. A camera, Bird recognition manual and a field notebook are also welcome.
We recommend clothes of inconspicuous colors, as this makes the animals less agitated. During the observation, we will also take care of as little noise as possible and a respectful attitude towards nature.

Vabljeni na brezplačen voden pohod iz Breginja na vrh Stola, kjer bomo skozi gibanje in doživljanje narave spoznavali bogato naravno dediščino tega območja. Poseben poudarek bo namenjen opazovanju ptic, njihovemu prepoznavanju ter razumevanju njihove vloge v naravnem okolju.
Pohod je del programa Festivala pohodništva in kolesarjenja Dolina Soče in je organiziran v sodelovanju z Občino Kobarid v okviru projekta INTERREG ITINERANT . Udeležence bo spremljal lokalni turistični vodnik, strokovni del programa, namenjen opazovanju ptic, pa bo vodil vodič Društva za opazovanje in preučevanje ptic Slovenije (DOPPS).
Ptice so nepogrešljiv del narave, ki nas obdaja, vendar jih pogosto opazimo šele, ko jim namenimo nekaj več pozornosti. Med pohodom bomo spoznavali, kako jih prepoznamo po videzu in oglašanju, kako živijo, s čim se prehranjujejo ter kako jih lahko opazujemo na spoštljiv način, ne da bi posegali v njihovo naravno vedenje.
Spoznavanje ptic je tudi priložnost za boljše razumevanje pomena ohranjanja naravnega okolja in biotske raznovrstnosti ter za odkrivanje, kako lahko ljudje in narava sobivamo v ravnovesju. Pohod je namenjen vsem, ki želijo na trajnosten in doživet način spoznati izjemno naravo območja Stola ter odkriti njegov raznolik živalski svet.
Obvezna oprema
Udeleženci potrebujejo ustrezno pohodniško obutev, pohodniške palice po potrebi ter dovolj hrane in pijače iz nahrbtnika.
Za opazovanje ptic priporočamo tudi daljnogled, če ga imate. Daljnogled omogoča natančnejše opazovanje ptic in njihovega vedenja z ustrezne razdalje, ne da bi jih pri tem motili. Dobrodošli so tudi fotoaparat, priročnik za prepoznavanje ptic in terenska beležka.
Priporočamo oblačila nevpadljivih barv, saj tako živali manj vznemirjamo. Med opazovanjem bomo poskrbeli tudi za čim manj hrupa ter spoštljiv odnos do narave.
