On Thursday, 9. April, the village at 19. we cordially invite uri to the atrium of the ZRC for a public conversation on the occasion of the publication of the book tribute to Ukraine . In it, war reporter and humanitarian volunteer Erik Valencic describes a shocking, personal and direct insight into life in wartime Ukraine.
Soon after the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, the author went to Ukraine several times – not only as an observer, but also as an active participant in humanitarian efforts. With the help he drove into the besieged cities and near the front lines, and through encounters with people trapped in the everyday life of war, he forged a story of courage, fear, solidarity and perseverance. The book also raises questions of personal responsibility and humanity at a time that many characterize as a time of uncertainty and dehumanization.
The author will be interviewed by the journalist and editor of the book Bostjan Videmsek . The conversation will provide an opportunity for a deeper understanding of the situation in Ukraine and for reflection on what it means to defend humanity – not only there, but anywhere in the world.

V četrtek, 9. aprila, vas ob 19. uri vljudno vabimo v Atrij ZRC na javni pogovor ob izidu knjige Poklon Ukrajini . V njej vojni poročevalec in humanitarni prostovoljec Erik Valenčič opisuje pretresljiv, oseben in neposreden vpogled v življenje v vojni Ukrajini.
Avtor se je kmalu po začetku ruske invazije februarja 2022 večkrat odpravil v Ukrajino – ne le kot opazovalec, temveč tudi kot aktivni udeleženec humanitarnih prizadevanj. S pomočjo, ki jo je vozil v oblegana mesta in v bližino prvih bojnih linij, ter skozi srečanja z ljudmi, ujetimi v vsakdan vojne, je izoblikoval zgodbo o pogumu, strahu, solidarnosti in vztrajnosti. Knjiga odpira tudi vprašanja osebne odgovornosti in človečnosti v času, ki ga mnogi zaznamujejo kot čas negotovosti in razčlovečenja.
Z avtorjem se bo pogovarjal novinar in urednik knjige Boštjan Videmšek . Pogovor bo priložnost za poglobljeno razumevanje razmer v Ukrajini ter za razmislek o tem, kaj pomeni braniti človečnost – ne le tam, ampak kjerkoli na svetu.
