Bark beetles are a subfamily of beetles whose hosts are, in particular, woody plants, that is, trees and shrubs. They represent an indispensable part of forest ecosystems, in which they play an important role especially as wood decomposers. On the other hand, some bark beetle species can multiply quickly and also cause great economic damage in forests. At the end of 2024, a monograph on bark beetles was published, which includes data on the finds of 117 different species of bark beetles on the territory of Slovenia.
The book is the result of more than 30 years of work by employees of the chair of forest protection at the Department of Forestry and renewable forest resources of BF. The content of the book will be presented in a popular way, so all nature lovers are invited to the lecture.

Podlubniki so poddružina hroščev, katerih gostitelji so zlasti lesnate rastline, torej drevesa in grmi. Predstavljajo nepogrešljiv del gozdnih ekosistemov, v katerem imajo pomembno vlogo zlasti kot razgrajevalci lesa. Po drugi strani pa se nekatere vrste podlubnikov lahko hitro namnožijo in v gozdovih povzročijo tudi veliko gospodarsko škodo. Konec leta 2024 je izšla monografija o podlubnikih, ki zajema podatke o najdbah 117 različnih vrst podlubnikov na ozemlju Slovenije.
Knjiga je rezultat več kot 30 letnega dela zaposlenih v Katedri za varstvo gozdov na Oddelku za gozdarstvo in obnovljive gozdne vire BF. Vsebina knjige bo predstavljena na poljuden način, zato so na predavanje vabljeni vsi ljubitelji narave.
