Close to the light, the exhibition emerges from the artist's insignificant intimate, sensual and rational impulses in her desire to establish a dialogue with an extremely seductive but demanding exhibition space. In space, Petra Varl creates a choreography between four basic elements that "play" the experience of the material reality of the world of the artist and the viewer, subtly connecting it with the possibilities of the fleeting and the instantaneous. In space, a suspension is created between the material and something that is on the verge of material presence, between the visual and the non-visual. It is a kind of" liberation " within the entire layout by combining elements that are not formally possible. Rather than with the physical inertia of mass or volume, which would fill a demanding exhibition space, the artist's individual introduced elements are dynamic and open, trying to break the impression of the weight of the presence of volume and thus show the simple beauty of the emptiness of architectural space. As an honest derivative of the artist's rational reflection on the exhibition space, the setting is also close to the light a short story of intimate confessions that reveal thoughts that are always torn between experience and non-experience. Razstava Blizu svetlobi vznika iz neznatnih intimnih, čutnih in racionalnih impulzov umetnice v želji po vzpostavitvi dialoga z izredno zapeljivim, a zahtevnim razstavnim prostorom. Petra Varl v prostoru ustvarja koreografijo med štirimi osnovnimi elementi, ki »preigravajo« izkušnjo materialne realnosti sveta umetnice in gledalca ter jo subtilno povežejo z možnostmi minljivega in hipnega. V prostoru se ustvarja suspenz med materialnim in nečem, kar je na robu materialne prisotnosti, med vizualnim in nevizualnim. Gre za nekakšno »osvoboditev« znotraj celotne postavitve z združevanjem elementov, ki niso formalno mogoči. Prej kot s fizično inercijo mase oziroma volumna, ki bi zapolnila zahteven razstavni prostor, so umetničini posamični vneseni elementi dinamični in odprti in poskušajo razbiti vtis teže prisotnosti volumna ter na ta način pokazati na enostavno lepoto praznine arhitekturnega prostora. Kot iskren odvod umetničinega racionalnega razmisleka o razstavnem prostoru pa je postavitev Blizu svetlobi tudi kratka zgodba intimnih izpovedi, ki odstirajo misli, ki so vselej razpete med izkustvom in neizkustvom. Tako umetnice kot gledalca.
