SONJA VOTOLEN (*21. February 1956) began publishing poetry in the student newsletter and Literary Supplement of the Ptuj Weekly, and then in the magazines Mentor, Rast, dialogues, contemporary, Primorska meetings, Fontana, sickle, Apocalypse, our wife, Woman, Education, Styrian weekly, Bistrica panorama, Locutio and fan of words. Published on web portals Sparrow anarchist and Poetry.net. writes confessional prose, dramatic texts, stories for children, interviews, portraits, impressions. It is included in the anthology of Slovenian women poets 2, 2007. He participates in literary evenings, in radio broadcasts and conducts literary meetings. Publishes in anthologies (Voci dall'est 1999, 2000; poetry blah, blah, blah, from A to...?, 2015). SONJA VOTOLEN (*21. februar 1956) je začela objavljati poezijo v dijaškem glasilu in literarni prilogi ptujskega Tednika, nato pa tudi v revijah Mentor, Rast, Dialogi, Sodobnost, Primorska srečanja, Fontana, SRP, Apokalipsa, Naša žena, Ženska, Vzgoja, Štajerski tednik, Bistriška panorama, Locutio in Ventilator besed. Objavlja na spletnih portalih Vrabec anarhist in Poetry.net. Piše izpovedno prozo, dramska besedila, zgodbice za otroke, intervjuje, portrete, impresije. Vključena je v Antologijo slovenskih pesnic 2, 2007. Sodeluje na literarnih večerih, v radijskih oddajah in vodi literarna srečanja. Objavlja v zbornikih (Voci dall’Est 1999, 2000; Poezija bla, bla, bla, od A do …?, 2015). Prejela je več mednarodnih in domačih nagrad: na mednarodnem pesniškem natečaju, nagrada Pabla Nerude, Trst, 1999, uvrščena med deset finalistov; na mednarodnem pesniškem natečaju, Trst, 2000, uvrščena med finaliste, poezija izšla v dvojezičnem zborniku; prva mednarodna nagrada za poezijo Rim, 2001; diploma za poezijo, Verona, 2004; posebna nagrada za poezijo, Salo, 2007; druga mednarodna nagrada za poezijo, Neapelj, 2008; tretja nagrada za prozni tekst, Naša žena, Ljubljana; glavna nagrada Rojanski Krpan, za izvirno ljubezensko poezijo, 2009; med petimi nominiranci za poezijo, inspirirano z likom Iva Andrića, Travnik, 2011; srebrna čipka, druga nagrada za poezijo, Žiri, 2011; zlata čipka, prva nagrada za poezijo, Žiri, 2012; bronasta čipka, tretje mesto za prozo, Žiri 2012; bronasta medalja, tretje mesto na mednarodnem sejmu inovatorjev v Seulu, 2014.
