Through artistic and documentary photography, the OKO festival explores how photography can shed light on the responsibility of man to the protection of nature and highlight the fragility and beauty of the environment.
The OKO festival in Bohinj, at the heart of the Julian Alps and the Triglav National Park, combines documentary photography with themes of nature protection and sustainability. It invites projects that explore the relationship of man to nature, the impact on ecosystems and the transformation of landscapes over time.
The word “eye” symbolizes not only observation, but also understanding deeper connections between man and nature. Through photographic stories, the Festival encourages reflection on ethics, sustainability and the impact of man on the environment, creating a platform for Nature Conservation, artistic reflection and education.

Skozi umetniško in dokumentarno fotografijo festival OKO raziskuje, kako lahko fotografija osvetli odgovornost človeka do varstva narave ter poudari krhkost in lepoto okolja.
Festival OKO v Bohinju, na osrčju Julijskih Alp in Triglavskega narodnega parka, združuje dokumentarno fotografijo s temami varstva narave in trajnosti. Vabi projekte, ki raziskujejo odnos človeka do narave, vpliv na ekosisteme ter preoblikovanje pokrajin skozi čas.
Beseda “oko” simbolizira ne le opazovanje, ampak tudi razumevanje globljih povezav med človekom in naravo. Festival s fotografskimi zgodbami spodbuja razmišljanje o etiki, trajnosti in vplivu človeka na okolje ter ustvarja platformo za varstvo narave, umetniško refleksijo in izobraževanje.
