At this opening we will present a collection of old Indian miniatures, owned by Zoran Mushic and later donated to his niece Vandi Mushic Chapmann. The collection consists of ten Miscellaneous Indian miniatures on paper, painted in watercolor and gouache, and an old Japanese woodcut has been added. We do not know exactly where and how Mushic acquired the Indian collection, but according to the testimony of his niece, he had a collecting affinity and an extremely reverent attitude towards this kind of eastern artistic heritage.
We will reveal the rich iconography and symbolism of diverse Indian motifs and try to place the works stylistically or chronologically in the context of Indian miniature painting.

Odstrli bomo bogato ikonografijo in simboliko raznolikih indijskih motivov ter poskušali dela slogovno oz. kronološko umestiti v kontekstu indijskega miniaturnega slikarstva.
