We invite you to open Monday: presentation of the specialized catalog of postage stamps, which will be 13. April at 18.30 in the library of Lucia. During the content review of the catalogue of postage stamps entitled” postage stamps of foreign administrations and occupied Slovenian territories", we will also discuss philately, the collection of postage stamps, their proper storage, editing and cataloging and how to preserve them for future generations.
Postal history is an important part of our cultural and technical heritage and a reflection of the recent and contemporary history of Slovenia. The purpose of the catalogues of the project is to bring the entire Philatelic field of Slovenia closer to the users. Few countries can boast such a rich postal history as Slovenia. Since postage stamps began to be used in postal transport, as many as eight different state formations have lined up on the territory of present-day Slovenia, and the upheavals of both world wars have also left a strong mark.
In the introductory part we will present the concept of philately, its related branches and the concept of specialized Philately. This will be followed by the presentation of the catalog-manual, which brings several novelties interesting for philatelists from Primorska.
One of them is a different look at what we understand as "our brand"in the first place. Are these really just stamps issued by our postal administration, or should we include other issues among them? We will shed light on the issue from the point of view of postal sovereignty and actual use and their impact on philately.
We will also touch on specialization in Philately. There may be subtle differences between stamps of the same issue that significantly affect their value. Types, subtypes, defects and wear are not just a curiosity, but an important source of information about the production process, they allow the reconstruction of printing poles and help in the detection of fakes.
Finally, we will look at the evaluation of brands – what do catalog prices mean, how to understand them and how to use them in practice. In this area, too, the catalog brings some new, useful approaches.
Vabimo vas na Odprti ponedeljek: Predstavitev specializiranega kataloga poštnih znamk , ki bo 13. aprila ob 18.30 v Knjižnici Lucija. Ob vsebinskem pregledu kataloga poštnih znamk z naslovom “Poštne znamke tujih uprav in okupiranih slovenskih ozemelj”, se bomo pogovorili tudi o filateliji, zbiranju poštnih znamk, njihovem ustreznem shranjevanju, urejanju in katalogiziranju ter o tem, kako jih ohraniti za prihodnje rodove.
Poštna zgodovina je pomemben del naše kulturne in tehniške dediščine ter odsev novejše in sodobne zgodovine slovenskega prostora. Namen katalogov World Stamps Project je uporabnikom približati celotno filatelistično področje Slovenije. Malokatera država se lahko pohvali s tako bogato poštno zgodovino, kot jo ima Slovenija. Odkar so se v poštnem prometu začele uporabljati poštne znamke, se je na ozemlju današnje Slovenije zvrstilo kar osem različnih državnih tvorb, močan pečat pa so pustili tudi pretresi obeh svetovnih vojn.
V uvodnem delu bomo predstavili pojem filatelije, njene sorodne veje ter koncept specializirane filatelije. Sledila bo predstavitev kataloga-priročnika, ki prinaša več novosti, zanimivih za filateliste s Primorske.
Ena izmed njih je drugačen pogled na to, kaj sploh razumemo kot »našo znamko«. Ali so to res samo znamke, ki jih je izdala naša poštna uprava, ali pa bi morali mednje prištevati tudi druge izdaje? Vprašanje bomo osvetlili z vidika poštne suverenosti in dejanske uporabe ter njunega vpliva na filatelijo.
Dotaknili se bomo tudi specializacije v filateliji. Med znamkami iste izdaje se lahko skrivajo drobne razlike, ki bistveno vplivajo na njihovo vrednost. Tipi, podtipi, napake in obrabe niso le zanimivost, temveč pomemben vir informacij o proizvodnem procesu, omogočajo rekonstrukcijo tiskarskih pol in pomagajo pri odkrivanju ponaredkov.
Za konec bomo pogledali še vrednotenje znamk – kaj pomenijo kataloške cene, kako jih razumeti in kako jih uporabljati v praksi. Tudi na tem področju katalog prinaša nekaj novih, uporabnih pristopov.
