Life is a limited time that is given to us with the intention of living it and being grateful for every minute, every moment, every touch of our fellow human being. Every time we breathe in, we give the body the opportunity to function, fill it with energy that allows us to move, experience the world around us, educate, understand, create, love, be part of society. Our task is to understand that we have been in the world for as long as we are allotted, but during this time we can do so much good and meaningful that even when we are gone, a trace remains behind us. A clue that tells us that we are aware of who we are. We can be more than that – we can be an option that means another breath to someone, another moment. All we have to do is decide that we want to become part of a network that makes this possible. Therefore, it is important to learn, choose and decide in life whether we want to be more than human.
Katja Dance companion DanceArt.si they present a new Charity Dance-Theatre Performance created in cooperation with the Slovenian Institute for organ and tissue transplants Slovenia transplant. The performance under the artistic direction of choreographers Katja Vidmar and Mitja Popovsky, produced by Albert Podrekar and under the honorary patronage of Mrs. Vlasta nussdorfer, opens up space for one of the most important themes of modern society: the decision to donate organs and tissues.
Through contemporary dance, music and visual narrative, the show explores the moments when a person is faced with the most difficult questions – about transience, compassion and the power of donation. The show invites the audience to reflect on autonomous, voluntary and informed decision-making and encourages an open dialogue about organ donation as a natural part of end-of-life medical care.
For many years, Katja Dance Company has been creating socially engaged projects that connect art and charity. They also remain committed to this mission in this performance: part of the proceeds from the performances will be donated to the Slovenian Transplant Society after the costs have been settled for the implementation of their tasks in accordance with the basic act of the society.
Katja Dance Companion
it is a Slovenian amateur dance group founded in October 2016 by Katja Vidmar – artistic director (Slovenian professor, performance author, dancer and choreographer) and Albert Podrekar – producer. KDC pursues three main goals: to draw attention to everyday points in life with dance art, which significantly touch our life and environment; to enable dance infrastructure for artists who want to live their dance art on stage, while giving the stage and audience quality content; to allocate funds from dance performances for humanitarian content.

Življenje je omejen čas, ki nam je dan z namenom, da ga živimo in smo hvaležni za vsako minuto, vsak trenutek, vsak dotik sočloveka. Vsakič, ko vdihnemo, damo telesu možnost, da lahko deluje, napolnimo ga z energijo, ki nam omogoča, da se premikamo, doživljamo svet okrog sebe, se izobražujemo, razumemo, ustvarjamo, ljubimo, smo del družbe. Naša naloga je, da razumemo, da smo na svetu toliko časa, kot nam je namenjen, a lahko v tem času naredimo toliko dobrega in pomenljivega, da tudi, ko nas ni več, ostane za nami sled. Sled, ki sporoča, da smo se zavedali, kdo smo. Lahko smo več kot to – lahko smo možnost, ki nekomu pomeni še en vdih, še en trenutek. Vse, kar moramo storiti, je, da se odločimo, da želimo postati del mreže, ki to omogoča. Zato je pomembno, da se v življenju poučimo, izberemo in odločimo, ali želimo biti več kot ČLOVEK.
Katja Dance Company in DanceArt.si predstavljajo novo dobrodelno plesno – gledališko predstavo, ustvarjeno v sodelovanju z Zavodom Republike Slovenije za presaditve organov in tkiv Slovenija transplant. Predstava pod umetniškim vodstvom koreografov Katje Vidmar in Mitje Popovskega, v produkciji Alberta Podrekarja ter pod častnim pokroviteljstvom gospe Vlaste Nussdorfer, odpira prostor za eno najpomembnejših tem sodobne družbe: odločitev za darovanje organov in tkiv.
Predstava skozi sodobni ples, glasbo in vizualno pripoved raziskuje trenutke, ko se človek znajde pred najtežjimi vprašanji – o minljivosti, sočutju in moči darovanja. Predstava občinstvo povabi k razmisleku o avtonomnem, prostovoljnem in informiranem odločanju ter spodbuja odprt dialog o darovanju organov kot naravnem delu medicinske oskrbe ob koncu življenja.
Katja Dance Company že vrsto let ustvarja družbeno angažirane projekte, ki povezujejo umetnost in dobrodelnost. Tudi pri tej predstavi ostajajo zavezani temu poslanstvu: del prihodkov od uprizoritev bo po poravnavi stroškov namenjen slovenskemu društvu Transplant za izvajanje njihovih nalog v skladu s temeljnim aktom društva.
Katja Dance Company
je slovenska amaterska plesna skupina, ustanovljena oktobra 2016, ki sta jo ustanovila Katja Vidmar – umetniška vodja (sicer profesorica slovenščine, avtorica predstav, plesalka in koreografinja) in Albert Podrekar – producent. KDC sledi trem glavnim ciljem: da s plesno umetnostjo opozarja na vsakdanje točke v življenju, ki se pomembno dotikajo našega življenja in okolja; da omogoča plesno infrastrukturo umetnikom, ki želijo živeti svojo plesno umetnost na odrih, obenem pa dati odrom in publiki kvalitetno vsebino; da namenja sredstva s plesnih predstav za humanitarne vsebine.
