Literary and Fine Arts are often intertwined; illustrations of books or comics that we read and viewed in childhood have been imprinted in our memory for all of us. Monuments of literary artists accompany us on the way through the city or the park, and their portraits and illustrations of literary works are kept in museum collections. Quite often, a poem or story was also a direct inspiration for artistic depiction, and vice versa; both genres of art often connect and complement each other.
This is why we asked children and young people what they like to read or what they have read interesting recently. What is their favorite story or song? Maybe they are fans of comics? We invited them to present their favorite story, fable, poem, comic in any artistic way ... they could choose a book hero, a favorite part of the story, they could design the cover of their favorite book, illustrate a popular poem or prose text ... A wide variety of motifs and artistic solutions were welcome, which is also reflected in the diverse selection of works of art at the exhibition.
And what did the children and young people read? We met with interpretations of Slovenian works, such as Sapramiska , Kekec , Pekarna mishmash , Zvezdica Slumberka , cat Muri , Piki Jakob , poetry of Setko Kosovel and France Preserna, as well as with depictions of foreign ones, where the comics Dogman and Captain Gatnik stood out , in addition to these two , the detective agency for Ghosts, The Adventures of Pepe Pig and, of course, the famous magician Harr / Potter.
We thank all participants and their mentors for their cooperation and efforts. The exhibition presents award-winning and outstanding works selected by the commission.

Prav zato smo otroke in mlade povprašali, kaj radi prebirajo oziroma kaj so v zadnjem času zanimivega prebrali. Katera je njihova najljubša zgodba ali pesem? So morda ljubitelji stripa?
In kaj so prebirali otroci in mladi?
