The discussion evening will discuss the history of reading, printing, literacy and languages of Education in Gorizia.
We will emphasize the influence of the bourgeoisie on reading culture and the integration of Gorizia into European thought currents. We will also address the importance and positive effects of reading books in times of dominant digital media.
Participating: ales Gabric, historian (Institute of contemporary history), Miha Kovac, editor, Professor (Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana), in conversation with Petra Kolenc (ZRC SAZU).
The event is part of the EPISKOP project, which belongs to the official GO! 2025.

Na pogovornem večeru bomo razpravljali o zgodovini branja, tiska, pismenosti in jezikih izobraževanja na Goriškem.
Poudarili bomo vpliv meščanstva na bralno kulturo in vpetost Goriške v evropske miselne tokove. Naslovili bomo tudi pomen in pozitivne učinke branja knjig v času prevladujočih digitalnih medijev.
