The story of how Jean-Luc Godard filmed to his last breath, told in the style and spirit in which the then film critic made his cult debut. Richard Linklater's film (Boy years, before midnight) was awarded four Caesar awards by the French Academy, also for Best Director.
Paris at the end of the fifties. Jean-Luc Godard is a prominent member of a team of penetrating, intellectual film critics under the auspices of the magazine Cahiers du Cin Animalma. Since all the critics around him are filming their feature films, he feels that he has to try it himself. For the film about the criminal Michel Poiccard, he gathers a team headed by the little-known actor Jean-Paul Belmondo and the rising American actress Jean Seberg. However, on the set, everyone present is surprised by Godard's way of working. Instead of classical methods, the young filmmaker swears by improvisation, coincidences and filming scenes without repetition. Something unusual for everyone turns out to be a turning point in the history of cinema.
