The Festival "Murski Dragon presents itself" will be held
on Saturday, 20. in June 2026, during 10. and 19. uro,
next to the quechy hatchery in the Negroes at Friendship Bridge in Apache Township.
With the support of the Apache Municipality at the REVIVO institute within the "Life-Boat 4 sturgeons" project, we are making sure that its native fish species, quechita, today a protected and highly endangered species of the sturgeon family, returns to the Mura River.
That is why, since January, a mysterious dark container has been standing next to the Friendship Bridge, which hides a special story: the quechig hatchery. Several thousand quechiga Fry are already growing in it today, which will be gradually returned to the Mura River. For the first time, the festival will introduce citizens to the work in the hatchery, the importance of preserving quechiga and the efforts to Restore Life in the Mura River. Visitors will be able to see the hatchery, learn about the life cycle of quechiga and learn why this ancient fish species is an important indicator of a healthy river.
The event will be accompanied by a varied program for all generations, presentations of participating organizations, guided tours and symbolic release of quechiga fry into the Mura River.

Festival »Murski zmaj se predstavi« bo potekal
v soboto, 20. junija 2026, med 10. in 19. uro,
ob valilnici kečig v Črncih pri mostu prijateljstva v občini Apače.
S podporo Občine Apače na Inštitutu REVIVO znotraj projekta »LIFE-Boat 4 sturgeons« skrbimo, da se v reko Muro vrača njena avtohtona vrsta ribe, kečiga, danes zaščitena in močno ogrožena vrsta iz družine jesetrov.
Prav zato že od januarja ob mostu prijateljstva stoji skrivnosten temen kontejner, ki v sebi skriva posebno zgodbo: valilnico kečig. V njej danes raste že več tisoč mladic kečige, ki jih bomo postopoma vračali v reko Muro. Na festivalu bomo občanom prvič podrobneje predstavili delo v valilnici, pomen ohranjanja kečige ter prizadevanja za obnovo življenja v reki Muri. Obiskovalci si bodo lahko ogledali valilnico, spoznali življenjski krog kečige in izvedeli, zakaj je ta starodavna ribja vrsta pomemben pokazatelj zdrave reke.
Dogodek bo spremljal pester program za vse generacije, predstavitve sodelujočih organizacij, vodeni ogledi ter simbolični izpust mladic kečige v reko Muro.
