Exhibition " local clays and heritage. Posocje-karst " is one of the most visible results of the local clay and Heritage Project, which since 2020 has been held in cooperation with the Gorizia Museum and the Kanal ceramicists Club.
The purpose of the project is the collection and study of local clays between Posocje and Karst and the production of study and unique products from collected samples. We are interested in the properties of clays – what color they are, how they are formed, what properties they have at different firing temperatures, how their properties change if various additives (e.g. quartz sand) are added to them, etc. At the same time, we were also interested in the heritage of this space, related to clay or ceramics.
The exhibition presents a geological outline of the area, a brief overview of the use of clay and the manufacture of ceramics between prehistory and the early Middle Ages, and the history of pottery and brickwork from the late Middle Ages up to and including the 20th century. centuries between Posocje and Karst. On display are numerous test and other products made from local clays, as well as some selected museums showing the use of clay or ceramics Once Upon a time.
The exhibition was financially supported by the municipality of Nova Gorica, the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Slovenia and the municipality of Kanal ob Sochi. The exhibition is trilingual, as the texts on the billboards are translated into English and Italian, as are the summaries of the texts in the catalog. It is complemented by a video clip showing the activities carried out at the workshops within the project.

Razstava »Lokalne gline in dediščina. Posočje–Kras« je eden najvidnejših rezultatov projekta Lokalne gline in dediščina, ki od leta 2020 poteka v sodelovanju Goriškega muzeja in Kluba keramikov Kanal.
Namen projekta je zbiranje in proučevanje lokalnih glin med Posočjem in Krasom ter izdelava študijskih in unikatnih izdelkov iz nabranih vzorcev. Zanimajo nas lastnosti glin – kakšne barve so, kako se oblikujejo, kakšne lastnosti imajo pri različnih temperaturah žganja, kako se njihove lastnosti spremenijo, če jim dodajamo razne dodatke (npr. kremenčev pesek) idr. Ob tem nas je zanimala tudi dediščina tega prostora, povezana z glino oz. keramiko.
Na razstavi je predstavljen geološki oris območja, kratek pregled rabe gline in izdelave keramike med prazgodovino in zgodnjim srednjim vekom ter zgodovina lončarstva in opekarstva od poznega srednjega veka do vključno 20. stoletja med Posočjem in Krasom. Na ogled so številni testni in drugi izdelki iz lokalnih glin ter nekaj izbranih muzealij, ki kažejo uporabo gline oz. keramike nekoč.
Razstavo so finančno podprli Mestna občina Nova Gorica, Ministrstvo za kulturo RS in Občina Kanal ob Soči. Razstava je trojezična, saj so besedila na panojih prevedena v angleški in italijanski jezik, prav tako tudi povzetki besedil v katalogu. Dopolnjuje jo video posnetek, ki prikazuje izvedene aktivnosti na delavnicah v okviru projekta.
