Mirko Zrinsh Alakak (1953) placed nine monumental wooden sculptures in dialogue with the space of the former monastery church, pronounced verticals of subtle effects, seemingly floating in space in the correct lighting. In terms of content, it is a continuation of the exploration of the sculptural form, which the author began in 2008 with the ambient installation of the exhibition forms of space in the Art Pavilion in Zagreb. Even in kostanjevica's former monastery church, the artist insists on finding the ideal form, which, according to him, is a sublimation of all the forms of his personal archipelago. The search must be understood as the author's intimate meditation and search, which is not a method in him, but directly derived from his sculptured way of life. This is precisely why Zrinsh Alakak's sculptures are perceived in the field of the sublime as an experience-based artistic statement. For any insight, the viewer needs deep attention, a kind of haptic state, when an instinctive desire for tactility arises, when in silence we listen to the vibrations that we eventually feel somewhere in our stomach, when we hear from far back here now.
