"How can Reading Antigone help us get through the problems of the modern world? It is necessary to be very clear about this – he cannot help us at all."The introductory emphasis of the essay by the philosopher Gregory The Wise, which the author performs together with Catherine Stegnar, seems to call into question the meaningfulness of their actions. But philosophy likes to browse where browsing seems pointless, moreover, it is there that it, as a rule, also gleans the most valuable insights. In the never-ending task of understanding the moment, this time we will help ourselves with Sophocles, Hegel, Cube and shovel. Without the latter, we just can't handle browsing.

The classic interpretation of the choice between the law of the heart and the law (divine and human law) therefore receives in this kind of performance of Antigone a completely different kind of dynamics, which manifests itself, among other things, in the simple dilemma of why the burial of the brother yes and the other dead no, the question of kinship ties is redefined, which ultimately reach all the way to the changed trauma of the well-known Oedipus, feminism, etc.in the theatrical essay, The thoughts of Sophocles, Kant and especially Hegel are also exposed. The dice and the dice as a game of chance and the shovel, however, are gadgets without which digging through the depths of the soul cannot be undertaken. [ ... ] Last but not least, in the concluding part, it should be pointed out that with the essay-theatrical works of Antigonus and rumors, philosophy accepts the challenge, the challenge of the modern age, and in this way takes risks and enters the place it once possessed: on the stage, in the transferred sense to the square (agora) and among the people.

»Kako nam lahko branje Antigone pomaga prebroditi probleme sodobnega sveta? Glede tega je treba biti zelo jasen – sploh nam ne more pomagati.« Zdi se, da uvodni poudarek eseja filozofa Gregorja Modra, ki ga avtor izvaja skupaj s Katarino Stegnar, postavlja pod vprašaj smiselnost njunega početja. A filozofija rada brska tam, kjer se zdi brskanje nesmiselno, še več, prav tam praviloma tudi izbrska najdragocenejša spoznanja. V nikoli končani nalogi razumevanja trenutka si bomo tokrat pomagale_i s Sofoklom, Heglom, kocko in lopato. Brez slednje se brskanja pač ne moremo lotiti.

Klasična interpretacija izbire med zakonom srca in postave (božji in človeški zakon) zato dobiva v tovrstni uprizoritvi Antigone povsem druge vrste dinamiko, ki se med drugim manifestira v preprosti dilemi, zakaj pokop brata da in ostalih mrtvih ne, redefinira se vprašanje sorodstvenih vezi, ki ne nazadnje sežejo vse do predrugačene travme dobro znanega Ojdipa, feminizma itd. V gledališkem eseju se tudi zato izpostavijo misli Sofokleja, Kanta in predvsem Hegla. Kocka in kockanje kot igra naključja ter lopata pa sta pripomočka, brez katerih se kopanja po globinah duševnosti ne gre lotiti. […] Ne nazadnje velja v sklepnem delu še izpostaviti, da z esejistično-gledališko zastavljenima deloma Antigona in O govoricah filozofija sprejema izziv, izziv moderne dobe, in na ta način tvega ter stopa na mesto, ki ga je nekoč že posedovala: na oder, v prenesenem smislu na trg (agora) in med ljudi.
