She will discuss the debut with the architect and writer Ajda Bracic.
Rattlesnake is a stunning novel that takes under scrutiny the (almost) ordinary Slovenian family, within which, above all, the relationship between mother Vera and daughter Nina. The space between them has always been full of denied grievances, shame and longing, which later determine two other important relationships for Nina; the one she has with herself and the rattle that has been bubbling mercilessly in her from an early age, and the one she establishes with her partner Bojan. Although this is not quite what she would like, the protagonist feels at the first meeting that it is "a deadline[o] that she may be able to domesticate", and how could she not, when it is with this very hand, trembling from too much alcohol and with the blows she will inflict on her, that she relives everything that she knows from the primary family over and over again ... will Nina's rattle ever go silent? Will the wind of everything that it drags behind it ever subside, or will she learn its language and listen to it? A masterfully written novel about intergenerational pattern-passing, motherhood, domestic violence, abandonment and everything else that defines us and raises the question of how free our decisions really are.

Mojstrsko izpisan roman o medgeneracijskem prenašanju vzorcev, materinstvu, družinskem nasilju, zapuščenosti in vsem drugem, kar nas definira in odpira vprašanje o tem, kako svobodne so v resnici naše odločitve.
