In 1987, the famous photographer Bruce Amakseber spent several months on the road with the legendary jazz vocalist and trumpeter Chet Baker. In a year that turned out to be the last in the musician's hectic life, he followed his unpredictable protagonist from the beaches of Santa Monica through recording studios in Los Angeles all the way to Cannes in the south of France. Through beautiful black-and-white photography, rarely seen archival material and intimate interviews, the documentary tells the musician's life story from his meteoric rise in the fifties to his tragic fall into addiction and premature death.

Leta 1987 je sloviti fotograf Bruce Weber več mesecev preživel na cesti z legendarnim jazzovskim vokalistom in trobentačem Chetom Bakerjem. V letu, ki se je izkazalo za zadnje v glasbenikovem razburkanem življenju, je svojemu nepredvidljivemu protagonistu sledil od plaž Santa Monice prek snemalnih studiev v Los Angelesu pa vse do Cannesa na jugu Francije. Dokumentarec s pomočjo čudovite črno-bele fotografije, redko videnega arhivskega gradiva in intimnih intervjujev pripoveduje glasbenikovo življenjsko zgodbo od njegovega meteorskega vzpona v petdesetih letih do tragičnega padca v odvisnost in prezgodnje smrti.
